Which balls do you use?

I’ve gone for direct to consumer. Currently have a box of seed pro v1 rip offs, think they were £25ish and I like them. If I get a good deal on premium balls I’ll go for them as well, managed to get a dozen tp5 for about £25 with the birthday voucher from American golf last year, the previous year’s model.

I tend to keep the nice balls for warmer months and comps. In winter I’ve started playing the titleist trufeel, they seem fine and I’d probably be happy to use them in comps if I ran out of the premium supply!

I played the Honma tw-x for a couple of years, really liked them.

I like Vice. I'm sure there are better (value/performance/whatever) balls out there, but I like the brand and so I use them. Buy them when they have the offers on, lose them all, buy some more.

For the first time ever I bought the Titleist 4 for 3 offer at the start of last season. Got 4 dozen Pro V1x Left Dash and somehow still have 2 dozen left. Also have a dozen Pro V1's from when I took out the club pro's 4 for 3 offer on lessons with a dozen Pro V1's thrown in.

Don't know if it was the change of ball to the left dash or the change of course to a links but I lose way less balls and my handicap dropped 2.6 shots this season.

Premium balls but I always buy in bulk when they do the 4 for 3 deals. I have been using the mizuno rb tour now for a while got 2 dozens as a present and I think there around 35 a dozen and are an amazing ball. I don’t notice a difference between them and my usual balls prov1 and z star.

I use new premium tour balls bought by other people and left for me in the rough. One of the perks of being a member at a higher end golf club. There is no option for this in the survey

I wouldn't use refurbished/lake balls, they usually don't feel right. Better off with a mid range ball.

You can get a dozen z stars for 26.99 at the moment for example.

Preferred are any of the soft balls.

Playing with other classic/vintage players we'll occasionally use old 1.62" balls.

That is one of my grrs with going up so much in handicap - the number of balls I lose. There was a time when most used balls went in to the practice and very few into the bushes.

Nice, going to get a few doz my self, tees and gloves always the go to for free delivery

Pro V1 bought new. I always buy the four dozen for the price of three when the new version is released. I also get free sleeves of them when turning out for the county seniors team . In winter I use new tour speeds until I lose them or they become too scuffed.

Haven't bought any since around summer of 2023, have about 6 dozen ProV1 and a few ProV1X ready for the first half of 2025.

I lose too many balls to use premium and to be honest I doubt if they would make much difference to my play. Currently using Srixon AD333s & Q Star Tours which I wait for the 4 for 3 offers on.

In the winter it's mid range stuff like Chromesofts, Tour Response and the like
Other times it's ProVs or TP5s of either standard or X version
If I find a Snell/Vice etc and it's the premium version then that'll go in the bag.
#1 ball for me most of the time is the Mizuno RB Tour...virtually the same as a ProV1 but I got them for 30 quid a dozen....

A couple of YT reviews showed virtually no difference in spin, distance, launch, height etc etc and the compression is nigh on the same as well.
Worth a punt a d with a new one about to hit the shelves the old one may be even cheaper..

Last year i used the Seed 01 ball. Down to my last few now and will need to stock up on something for this year. Could go Seed again but might try something else just to see other options. The Wilson Triad gets good reviews, might give it a go

I use TaylorMade TP5x stripe because I like the stripe (!).

No idea if it's the best ball for me, but find the visual fantastic.

Yes, I know I could draw all over it with a Sharpie, but that gets on my nerves.

*bought 6 dozen with one free, so dear, but cheaper than retail.

Have A couple of boxes of ProV1's, but not felt the need to swap.
