I've had my 3 wood for years and think it might be time for a change. There's nothing wrong with it and I hit it well, both off the fairway and when used off the tee.
So apart from me trying out a few, which I would do, what Woods would you recommend ?
In all honesty I just feel my 3 wood is probably a bit dated and this is the thinking behind it. Plus it's that old I might get more distance and forgiveness.

AG. is a good place to try a few, for me the Titleist 915 is excellent.

Well your warbird is getting on a bit but if it still works you may not have that much to gain from a new one. The main change in recent years is probably in clubs that are driver replacements and give a strong flight off the tee. But if you also use it a lot off the deck probably as good as it ever was. Try a few but test them critically against your own. I would also avoid AG. They will almost certainly try to help you reach the conclusion that you need to spend some dough

Totally disagree with the AG comment as they also have second hand clubs he could try, maybe it's best to let the poster decide were to go as he's looking for help rather than you airing your prejudices and making his mind up for him.

I quite like my TM RBZ Stage 2 3-wood, but it is really down to personal preference and what works for you. Suggest that the OP goes and tries out a few types on a range or flitescope set-up.

Gonna plug either the 'Callaway X2 hot' (I recently aquired one of these) or the new 'Big Bertha' with the 'Fubuki' shaft, both very good !...

Now that I've got the hang of it, I can recommend the Nike Covert 2.0 3 wood. It's probably a two year old model now, but it looks good and easy to hit off of the deck.

I recently retired my old faithful Sonartec NP99 - to the spare bag - replacing it with an Adams that has been great! Agree with others about the Callaway offerings and the RBZ (S2 or Tour) with a decent shaft.

Tour Edge Exotics are still beasts too, if you want something 'less popular but still great performance'!

Yep have to agree with the 'Exotics' as I've just retired my 'XCG3/15* 3-wood' now replaced by my 'X2 hot/15* 3-wood' but apart from the well used appearance there's still nothing wrong with the XCG and in-fact I'm still using my 3/18* hybrid and my XCG irons are still in all but perfect condition !...

Rbz stage 1 has still got taylormades record for best selling 3 wood. when i was fitted for my m1 driver the fitter saw my rbz 3 wood with a whiteboard shaft and said " i ent even going to bother with the m1 3 wood"

I will be posting a ping g30 3 wood with a tour stiff shaft (with wrench) soon. It's in great condition..... Pm me if you're interested ....
