My favourite place in the whole world (and in my opinion, by some distance the most underrated course I’ve played out of any Top 100 venue)
I played Hindhead on Weds and all I can say is you are a lucky lucky man! That place every week, yea I could just about put up with it! A superb course and a wonderful welcome from everyone at the club.

Glad you enjoyed - it is a very friendly club, was probs one of the biggest surprises when I joined - expecting it to be a bit stuck up and that’s not the case at all.

It is in amazing condition at the mo as well, the big 36 hole amateur open is held there tomorrow (Devils Punchbowl) so all course maintenance and whatnot is planned with that in mind. I wouldn’t be surprised if only very few shoot under par.

It's something Natural Standing Position I think, forgotten what the H was. I think SwingsitlikeHogan made it up then pretended it was some age old traditional thing to have us on.
Some nonsense like Historical Natural Standing Position.

Sounds like a wind up that someone believed.

I am lucky being a member of two clubs but play 50% of the time at away clubs, Opens and such, have just got home from my annual Thailand trip, Black Mountain and Banyan are first class.

Two more northerners here - My club is Willow Valley Golf Club - 3 courses to choose from..

First hole on the 9 hole par 30 Fountain Ridge Course...

Then we have the shorter 18 hole Pine Valley Course - this is the 6th hole....

And then we have our 18 hole "Championship Course" - which did actually host the Yorkshire PGA Championship for a good number of yours - so contentiously can call itself a Championship Course.

However, the youth prefers to play at Dewsbury District Golf Club, where he is a member and where I may also move to next year - it's a few hundred yards from where we are moving to and although it doesn't offer the variety of Willow Valley, it's probably in better nick - I'm still a little undecided what to do. They do offer a flexi membership at Dewsbury which is points based, and looks appealing - I seem to spend a lot of my time ferrying Jamie to different comps in the summer and this has affected my golf - I've not had the value out of full membership this year and to be fair, I do quite enjoy the days out - we've been to some great courses, Hillside and Silloth to name a couple - so maybe I'll go down the flexi membership route and free up some time to either wander round with the youth, or have the odd 'away day' myself..

Signature hole at Dewsbury is probably the 14th, elevated tee shot to a tiered fairway, then drop down to the lower fairway and the green in the distance.

I’m at Barnehurst - a 9 hole course and yet another designed by James Braid.

It’s in the process of being sold by AG to an Irish golfing company so finger crossed they’ll pump some money into it

Blimey is Barnhurst still going I was brought up in Crayford and played there a few times, very tight course and remember the holes where you crossover getting wet in winter.
