I don't usually see a range visit as practice (although that's generally what happens)
Going to the range (especially if its a good range) is an activity in itself, just like playing a round and good fun if a few go at the same time but even on my own if I'm tweaking or adjusting, loosening up or going for target 'practice' then it takes no motivation really as its an enjoyable activity in itself
Actually I don't think enough ranges market the social aspect anywhere near as well as they might
