as per title. As we are on about the 18th at Wentworth, folks not happy with this element of their game and so forth. could be a tricky tee shot, a savage water hazard or a mare of a green.

post away :)

I think the 6th at Stoneleigh Deer Park off the back tee's must rank as "intimidating" 230+ yard par 3 to a raised green 5 pace's wide, surrounded by bunkers upto 6 feet deep !!

for me its the 18th on the brabazon, as if the tee shot isn't hard enough your then faced with a do i or dont i ? 2nd shot. Haven,t played a harder hole than that,Great finishing hole though

18th - Forest of Arden.
17th - my home club.
16th - Royal Lytham and Stan's gaff
15th - Royal St David's.

....I'll finish my list sometime after some zzzzz's

the 6th or 7th on the Tom Doak redesigned front 9 of the old Tom Morris links in Rossapenna 180 all carry to a small green tucked away

When I was about to win my first comp and I was on the 18th at Greencastle Co. Donegal, an intimidating par3 with the entire clubhouse watching, with bunkers and a dick of green to contend with. Made a par and won the comp though!

16th at Slieve Russell.

161 yards to carry water to the front of the green and then only 26 yards to play with to avoid the deep bunkers surrounding it.

17th at St.Andrews - because you know what is there.

9th at Pyrford - 592 yards with OOB left, water right and then an island green - and it's usually into the wind.

The 2nd at Monte Rei always scares me! The drive is over a big lake, with water then continuing down the right, with a prevailing wind which is generally into and off the left. Not a great combination.

If you get a decent drive away (you can't bail out left because there are a pair of fairway bunkers that side), you have to play a good positional second to prepare for an approach to a shallow raised green which is well bunkered and has none of the putting surface visible.

A tough par 5.
