What weather do you play in?

Are putters really worth £100++?

Club finals for prizes etc are different as you are all on a level playing field but on the whole you wouldn't get me out there for a fun round in anything heavier than very light drizzle with a good forecast. It just ain't no fun in the rain. :(

If you play once a week and look forward to it etc I can (just about) understand why people go out when it's lashing down. It's still funny to watch them though.

My definition of a golf umbrella is .... "a device used to keep dry when walking off a golf course" :D :D

Live on the coast so well used to wind/cold, play in those conditions more than sun.

Played in fog for the first time on Saturday. Interesting to say the least! The course probably should have been shut, it was very very touch and go.

You could only see about 100-150 yards, so you'd hit the ball and it would just disappear.

You'd be guessing where the green was too, at times. Hit a couple of good shots to where I thought the green was, only to find I was 20 yards left of where I thought it was.

It did clear up a bit but it was quite fun for a knockabout.

I think i'd play in most conditions, it'd need to be a big downpour to stop a round having started.
I last walked off when the ball wouldnt roll on the greens due to water, the place shouldnt really have been open i guess at that stage.

Didnt play through the snow so missed about 6 or 7 weeks overall this winter.

I wont practice in the rain though

I only like it when it's warm and sunny - I'm a traditional fair weather golfer and Southern shandy drinker (well, not even that!)

Hate bad weather and hate Scottish links golf courses... infact anywhere without trees.

I'd rather not go out in a downpour but will do so if its a club competition. Otherwise once I'm out I'll take what the elements can throw at me. Thats why I bought some decent waterproofs and shoes so I can stay out and not worry. I hate playing and trying to battle for a score and partners walk in at half time because "its too hard" or "I'm getting wet"

Id play in whatevers thrown at me..except snow frost and thunder and lightening..obviously :D... My attitude is if you can play in the middle of winter then you have no excuses come the summer

any weather for me, played every weekend except for 3 weeks when the course was snowed over at Xmas. not being brave but afraid if I dont I'll have to start all over again. Maybe once i'm a more accomplished player i'll give the bad days a miss :)

some of you seem to be prettey die-hards. For my part I hate playing in the rain, wind is no problem as long as the ball remains on the peg

Play in owt, Actually had the greeno's closing holes behind me once.
Only car left in the car park, even the pro had locked up and fecked off

We're not quite that bad although the merest mention of the word frost seems to be a sign to get the flags on temps. Only thing that I won't do is play if there is lightening anywhere within view. Having seen a lightining bolt come down about 100 yards away and having lost a mate many years ago to being hit by a bolt (I wasn't playing that day fortunately) I tend to get a tad paranoid.

At least my club now has a klaxon which the pro sounds if there is any lightening and it is mandatory to come off the course (or be banned). We never use to have that when we were in the middle of the racecourse and it was left to golfers discretion. Do other clubs have the same or is it up to you to decide

Was meant to be playing at 0830 today, but its a heavy frost and I don't want to add .1 just for the sake of it. will see if there are any times late morning when it thaws.

I'm always keen to play but just recently I've realised that there's no point playing when I've got six layers on, huge gloves, it's raining and the wind's a blowin'!!!!

I'll be a bit more choosey going forward. :D
