Had a customer pick his new car up today, really nice elderly guy, he was a keen golfer but has recently had to give up playing.
During the sales process we started chatting and the subject got onto golf, he promised me a "present" when he picked his car up to thank me for all of my help.
He turned up today and gave me a small zip up pouch, and in it was a Skycaddie SG5 GPS unit in immaculate condition.
He had no use for it anymore, to be fair he has hardly used it looking at it.
I felt a little embarrassed as I knew it was a top of the range unit, and told him that as much as I appreciated his kind gesture, I couldn't accept it, but he insisted.
He had included the manuals and installation disc along with a mains charging cable.
Only problem with it is he purchased it in the States a couple of years ago when he lived there and it is loaded with US courses. The mains charging cable has a US plug on it as well, but that's not a problem as I have an adapter for it somewhere around the house.
He didn't have the USB cable to connect it up to the PC but again, not a problem as I have a spare one kicking around that will suffice.
Just out of curiosity, how much is it likely to be worth???
I don't want to appear unappreciative of his kind gesture, but just having purchased my Bushnell watch I really don't have any use for it.
I understand that I can buy a Skycaddie membership that will allow me to download European courses into it, but I don't really want to have to do this.
