We have a roll up each week, Stableford, and if the winner has 36 points or better he is cut 1 shot for 3 months.

Today we had to come off after 16 because of rain and the winner had 33 points. One over level2's. We had a 'disagreement' whether he should be cut.

What do you think?

I'd say no cut as there is no prior agreement and no precedent.

33 after 16 could have been 33 after 18 or 39 after 18. He could have gross bogied both holes for 35 and still no cut.

So, unless you want to set the precedent now and upset some people make it a rule for future events.

If you win the pot, you get cut. If you hold the pot over til next week, then no cut.

Cuts in swindles are to spread the winning about, so the same people don't win every week.

Did he take the money?

Our swindle is more savage than that. We get a cut of 1 per shot under handicap, plus 1 for winning. I shot 75 on Saturday off 9, won, so I am off 2 next Saturday. I won't be in the winnings for sure. Get 1 shot back every week til I catch up my club h/cap.

He took the money and one guy was near enough to catch him. He was not cut.

However he did quote the wrong handicap on the card. We even let him off for that. soft eh!

I say no cut as it wasn't agreed before the start of the game.

Won our pot the other week and was cut 2 shots for winning, plus 1 shot for each point over 36. So with my 38 points I was cut 4 shots.
However it does go up .5 after each round up until a maximum of your club handicap.
