What do you use as a Ball Marker?

10 penny peice or a Canadian Cent or Dollar coin, forget what it is now but it has a great picture of a deer on the back. I crack that one out on special occasions but for bog standard golf its one of her Majestys 10ps - the same one though though, I keep it in my locker.

If you use a tee when your ball is on the green then I think you are breaking the rules, doesn't it need to be circular? I know Brian Barnes once used a beer can in his boozy days and that was allowed.

I may be wrong but i think you can use any kind of marker? I even saw on Sky when Jim Furyk used the end of his putter whilst kneeling to mark his ball, the R&A are not clear however...

The position of a ball to be lifted should be marked by placing a
ball-marker, a small coin or other similar object immediately behind the
ball. If the ball-marker interferes with the play, stance or stroke of another
player, it should be placed one or more clubhead-lengths to one side.

:D

I've always used whatever marker I found in my bag, but as of today I'll be using the 1966 two shilling coin I just found over the field whilst practicing my chipping. Lets hope the world cup winning year will be good to me!

I use anything to hand but mostly the magnetic one on my pitch mark repairer which, incidently I also use. but judging by the number of pitch marks I repair, no one else does.

the first one i pull out of the bag from numerouse courses ive played, my supersition is to always buy one if available from every course i play

A Manutd one from AG. Its just a circle with the badge on both sides, colour on one black and white on the other.

If I dont have it I normally just put a tee or picth marker down.
