You made an assumption about the type of competition! If correct, fine, if incorrect...see 'complications'.It's really not...
There is if you're a Professor of Pedantry....."38 points in a qualifying competition".
There's nothing to assume.
Agreed - in this case."38 points in a qualifying competition".

Why bother converting every hole to stableford if you only need to record gross scores. Just be aware of the occasional net double bogey. If it’s a medal just convert your score to stableford and work from there

But remember in three months time the differential formula will be quite different, there will be no CSS and your handicap will be available on your phone by the next morning after the 8/20 calculation has been done (whether or not the comp has been closed).
Because 99.9 % of golfers already do it anyway , and everyone’s HC system ( IG etc ) does it for you
But it won't work that way from November.
The point is that that process is redundant. Unnecessary now and useless in 3 months.
Thanks!Be careful, he'll probably take that as a compliment
Given that the gross score is on the card (ie the only figure that must be). Subtract the handicap and subtract the CSS/SSS. All done.
But each to his own.
