what did you shoot today?

In switzerland on a 4 week course. On my 3rd week so indulged in a few swings in the hotel room before dinner. Driver swing was a bit wild probably due to the winter jacket and heavy boots afflicting my hip turn. Nice iron play and a few deft little chips left me feeling rather positive ahead of a comp on sunday.

Had 1 too many beers at dinner so will finish the practice session tomorrow :)

Midweek golf is no more for me until the spring unfortunately.

Shot 94 today in a bounce game with my mate. Started off with an 8 on the first, but then parred the next four holes. Ended up 44 for the front nine and then the wheels fell off. Couldn't string two decent shots together after that and ended up with 50 for the back nine. :( Still, only 2 over par nett, so ample room for improvement. Going to organise a couple of lessons in the next few weeks and then keep it going over the winter in the hope that I can hit the ground running next season.

Played the Forest of Arden with a mate at £40 for the Arden and for the first time played below my new handicap, shot 82 - net 70 well happy . Got to say for mid November the Arden was in great nick, greens although a little slow which is only to be expected ran true. To cap off a fine day I almost aced the 18th - pitched a foot over the back of the pin with a 5 wood and sank the 4 footer for a birdie - happy days. Who says winter golf can't be fun.

34 points playing with Smiffy, Ray, and Norman (two of Smiffy's mates) at my place. Just enough to take the money off the old boys.:) Lovely day for golf, hardly a breath of wind, and no need for waterproofs. Thanks for the game lads and hope you all got home safely.

Fantastic day today Rich. Course was in superb condition, greens a little slower than usual but other than that you'd have thought it was a June/July day. Played the most part like a complete tosser. Hacked my way to 29 points but didn't deserve that many. How Ray only scored 2 more than me the way he was hitting the ball is one of golfs mysteries. Got home about 6.45, said "Hi" to Sam and promptly fell asleep on the sofa, was knackered!
Ray and Norm say thanks for the game, they throughly enjoyed it too and are really looking forward to a return in the Spring.

Range for me as well. Had a lesson on Monday and although the mega slice of early this year is gone I have still be going across the ball too often so trying to work on keeping more compact.

Good results in the main - even drawing with my 8 iron quite a few times.

(And the obligatory putts up and down the lounge - not sure what I'll do once our baby boy is old enough to be told he's not allowed to play ball games inside!)

finally got my arse in gear with a +2 68.

i struck the ball much better and made a few putts,i did chip in for a birdie 2 at 8 and holed a raker for birdie on the 1st so i can't complain about the silly bogeys at 6 and 16.i stopped and hit 4 drives off the 7th and this was my only bad shot,i topped the thing but i've been trying a few things so i didn't feel to bad about it.

Shot 75 today (par 69) in the morning Swindle at Highgate. Hit the ball great again but another horror show with the putter. 36 putts overall with 3x 3 putts (hit 12 GIR with 26 putts on them = 2.17 putts per GIR) and missed 3 putts under 3 feet aswell as not making on single one of my of 4-10 footers.... Just totally lost confidence with it. Thoughts of belly putters and claw grips have been clogging my mind at work all day since....

there was 7 of us today who played 12 holes(4 ball,3 ball) stableford and i had 24 pts which had me +5 for the 12.i was playing not bad but made no birdies and arsed up the 8th hole with a double bogey 5(no points).

i was hitting it really well though so i'm happy, just a few silly mistakes in and around the greens.the 1st is playing about 220 yrds and twice i failed to get up and down there(9 holer)....barely off the green so that was poor.

one of the lads had 28 pts with 4 3 pointers in a trot.....

3 games ladt week.
76, 74, 75.
The last 2 rounds I hit 11 GIR but only converted 1 chance each round. Not putting badly, just nothng much dropping except longish putts for par.
Still, the game is in decent shape and I'm playing around the new handicap.

I played a match play and won 4&3! Got a hole in one at the 174 yard par 3 11th at St Andrews Old course against Luke Donald. Yeah holed up in bed with the man flu and played a game of tiger woods on my PSP :)

Started off at 9.00 in pretty thick fog but we have a system of shouted messages back to the group behind which works pretty well in foggy conditions.

Shot a nett 69 to win the second round of our Winter Cup. Had just drifted up to 17 so was pretty chuffed with the chop to get me back to 16.

4 under gross, 9.8 under nett...

Texas Scramble!!

Heavy, dense fog for most of the round and first time this year I needed hand warmers and would have liked an extra layer - brrrrr...

I got shot of £6.50 at the range, wet all day here, I prefer the weather at Smiffys neck of the woods.
