About to pull the trigger on a cart setup to replace a stand bag and carrying option that I am just a bit tired with. I'm slightly unnerved by the mass of comments about preferring to carry. Aside from the exercise aspect of carrying over pushing (dubious though it is) what setbacks do people find when pushing and not carrying?

theres none really, pushing is way better than pulling.

The obvious is having to go around greens/bunkers etc and pushing in the rough aint fun, apart from that just do it and ignore any comments about carrying is best, that's all nonsense, carrying is one way of doing it, pushing is another, electric cart is another, sit on buggy is another, human caddy is another.

Do what you want

I prefer my electric trolly but if I was on a budget I'd go for the push option. Much easier than carrying and if you need to put drinks, waterproofs in you won't have to worry about the weight

When I first started playing golf I had a cheap pull trolley and the bloody thing gave me a bad back every time I played , when I changed to a push trolley the difference was immediate with no backache what so ever.

All this carrying lark is ok if it does not affect your golf but for some purists it seems the only way is to carry.

Do what suits you.
