Off my trolley

Got a trolley for the first time at the end of last year - if the weather is dodgy then I get it and the Sunmountain H2N0 bag out - but a couple of weeks ago I bought a Nike pencil bag for when I nip out with a half set as getting the trolley out annoyed me - Wouldn't use the pencil bag if rain is forecast but I've found that the trolley hasn't been used at all since I got it - incredibly light even with a full set of 14 clubs and a joy to get around the course carrying.

When did the change to from pull to push trolleys take place?

They're all people seem to consider these days, I'm a puller (keep in line ladies).

My trolley is a Masters that cost £10 from ebay, it has a front wheel so can be pushed or pulled but I removed the front wheel as I find it much easier to pull, especially uphill.

Okay, time to recant an old sentiment where I said that carrying should be mandatory. I'm getting on a bit now (37) and what with my gammie ankle, bad back, 18 clubs, 30 odd balls etc. etc. I decided to hire a trolley for the June medal last Saturday. This was the first time I have EVER used one (buggy or carry in the past) and it was great! I wasn't half as tired as I would have been when carrying and found pushing it around a breeze.

Now toying with the idea of getting one. Not sure about going the whole hog and going for an electric version? What options should I be looking at? If I go electric then I do want the option to be able to push should the battery die on me.

Why 18 clubs El Capitano?

I got myself a Masters 3-wheel push trolley about 3 years ago for only £59 new, still going strong, can't fault it, no need for brand snobbery prices, its a cart with 3 wheels and I stick my bag on it, simples :smirk:

Came off a long, slow round in hot weather today and was so thankful for having moved from carrying to a trolley earlier this year. Made such a big difference. And the trolley was £85 on Amazon (Bullet Easy Fold) and I'm yet to see any reason for a 120% premium for the Clicgear

Pulling, and the twisting that goes with it, is worse for your back than pushing.
Having said that, if you're OK with it then pull away...

In the OP you asked "what should I look for" ? I'd suggest you want one that's easiest to fold/unfold, and that is the most compact when folded - they always seem bigger when they are in the car boot. And big wheels seem to roll better.

Plenty of recommendations given for the Clicgear, so it seems popular - but don't know it it fits my criteria? Other can say if it does.

The Bullet folds down as small as the Clicgear, closes with a single button click, has large, easily removable wheels and, in my view, a better handle and console than the Clicgear. It also saves you £100 to spend on something which will actually assist one's golf as opposed to feeding one's brand skew. Cracking kit.

Started getting tired towards the end of the round. Got a Protrolley remote. Operate remote control without taking hand out of pocket (have to tell PPs I'm no playing with myself!). It's the best thing I ever bought, next best to having a caddy, perhaps even better, it doesn't give you bad advice.

I've had a Motocaddy S1 for 6 years and is easily the best piece of golf equipment I have ever owned.

Its needed a few minor home repairs over the last 18months but still doing the job and luckily I'm still on only the 2nd 36 hole battery.

A new battery is now about £90 and the motor has got a bit more of a whirr to its so just today I've decided that's its probably coming towards the end of its working days so have taken advantage of some AG vouchers I have and ordered a new S1. Didn't consider anything else as the previous model has served me perfectly so why change.
