Two range sessions on Thursday and Friday, where I doubt I hit 5 half decent shots out of 150, left me very deflated after recent improvements.

Had a club comp today and if it hadn't been for the fact that it was the winter team Stableford, I would probably have not even bothered such was the malaise :(

Scrub on the first after pulling a 3 wood into the trees and (look away now Bob) 4, yes four, putting!! :o

Got my act together and actually played pretty well until the 18th and pulled the driver OOB for another scrub, not too bad overall and a 40 point haul :)

Called in to see if there was any news on the new bats and walked out with a big brown box with "Mizuno Custom Fit" embossed on the side :D

The forecast is for rain all day tomorrow, but who cares? I'll be off to play golf with a spring in my step! :D

dontcha just love this game?

Right With you buddy, same happened to me!

We both had a similar week on the range, I went out in the winter league 4BBB expecting to not contribute..

Promptly opened up with a par to go 1 up... Parred the 5th and 6th to bring us back to 1 up after loosing 2 and 4.

Won us 11 and 12 to bring us back to one up going on 13, sadly we threw that one away. I then kept us in it with halfs when needed and my partner won two of the last 3 for us to win one up!

Bonkers after hitting about 20 good shots out of 160 on the range over the past week!

Very glad you got your game back too, your progress has impressed me and I think you have real talent! I hope I get to play a round with you one day!

Just read your update on the original thread - good shooting!

Just shows how fickle confidence can be!

Get yourself to some of the forum meets when you get chance, they're always great trips. Great banter and some of the guys on here actually can play the game!

Went to the range on Tuesday and Wednesday and was shocking and had booked a 30 minute quick fix lesson for tomorrow. Went to the range Thursday and walked away a happy and confident golfer. Stepped onto the 1st tee today and hit it like a beginner for the first four holes. Got it round the majority of the others but never hit one shot I was pleased with. No shiny box of toys either although the myjoys (my late Chrimbo present from my mum/outlaws) are on order

Whats that saying again ,AT LEAST DICK TURPIN WORE A MASK WHEN HE ROBBED YOU,40 points with 2 blobs jesus Phil thats good going,no sign of a red face either :D :D :D.

Nice bats :)

At times I I have felt this is the easiest game on earth, everything is natural. Last week it felt impossible...

I really do not think there is any other sport where you can get the range of emotions you get in golf.

It is what you and I as well as a few others have experienced this week that keeps us coming back for more!

Such a pity that you (WDIG) are far "oop norf" and I am "dowen sowth".

Maybe when I come up to see my parents in North Linconshire you are free to meet up in Grimsby for a game... I have asked HickoryShaft (member of grimsby) for a game in the week after Easter (Tue 26th- Thurs 28th of April). I plan to play Grimsby Golf Club and then Laceby Manor over two of those days.

I also want to play Normanby Hall where my friend I think is still a member. I do not know where you live but would be a good idea if you are close.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that when we all tip up at Woodhall Spa in April, Phil will do the "honourable thing" and cut himself to about 12 or 13.
No doubts whatsoever

Totally agree Smiffy!

If only I was there to see him do the said "honourable thing"....
