This evening while walking the dog, well while she was looking for somewhere to number 2, I started to **** hte rings of a tree that had been cut down.

THe first few rings were quite close together, then there was a 40 year or so period where the rings were really far apart, then they were close together, then towards the out edge they were far apart again.

So looking at the growth of the tree, going back in time, about 20 - 25 years ago we started to have wetter growing periods, the 40-50years before that looking at the growth of the tree was very very dry.

So once upon a time we did actually have dry summers.

Nah I don't believe it.....dry summers???what are they?

Funny enough it's been the best 2 or 3 days I can remember in a long time.....here's hoping that it continues.

How long does it take your dog to do its business?

I tried to teach the kids about tree rings last week, but all they wanted to do was chop up the wood and burn it in the fire pit.....Little vandals....
