Losing weight/fitness thread

4 mile run this afternoon, struggled badly from the start, legs just went to jelly almost instantaneously 🙈
I’ve been on 1500 calories for 7 days now and I think it took its toll today.

First run this morning since the charity 10k where I injured my calf, I took it very steady to start and I could feel the calf getting tight so shortened the route and did 6k, back home for a good stretch and some core.

7.3 miles this morning, had to walk the last mile as the heat killed me, bottle of red the night before probably didn’t help either 😂😂😂
10 mins per mile.

I went for 5 at 9pm last night and nearly got eaten alive by flies, attracted to my rather fetching luminous yellow vest.

I wasn't feeling great this morning but wanted to get 5k in as I'm giving the gymnastics a rest this week due to a shoulder injury and an upcoming golf trip. I had a stretch and warm up before I went for a run, I was aiming for 27m30s but managed 26m02s, and that includes 6m17s for the first km where I was sorting my music and getting to the old railway track which is nice and straight, so I'm very happy! Next week I'm going to measure the 5k from the start of the old railway track and see if I can break 25m.

I've got the all clear to start some shoulder exercises when I'm back from the golf trip.

Great 5k time 👏🏻👏🏻

Back and hip is in pieces but I managed the gym 3 times this week plus 27 holes on Friday. Eaten well but had a few drinks during this sunny period. You really see the difference in what you can lift when you don't go to the gym consistently over a month! It's a bit like starting again but I've put the reps in this week rather than struggling with the weights I got up to.

I hit my 3 stone this morning.

It's taken me since Jan 2024 and stalled at 2.5 stone for around 6 months, but the prep for the charity tandem ride and the ride itself got me 4lbs below the goal, which I've gained since that, around two weeks ago - sorry, needed lots of treats!

The aim is now to drop the other 7lbs and maintain that - well, I am talking in kilo's now I'm a health freak, so three of those and that's me maintaining from then on. If I don't do the ultimate goal, I'll remain happy where I am now, but it's possible.

I had a proper workout earlier - after riding her trike to the park, my toddler decided to have a minor tantrum and refuse to ride the trike or walk home afterwards. Cue me carrying her with one arm and rolling her bike along with the other one for the next 20 minutes. In 29°c. Nearly died.

Did weigh myself shortly afterwards and I've dropped to 13 stone 1 so only a pound away from losing a stone this year. Celebrated with a lovely pizza for dinner. 👍🏻 More humidity golf tomorrow should take care of that though.

Just had friends out for 2 weeks. Oh dear! I’m avoiding the scales but I’ve had to go out a notch on the belt. Beer count was way too high.

Got the steps in the last two days, including an impromptu bowling practice this morning.

You'll soon sweat it off if the temperatures out there are anything like what is being reported in our press 🌞😎

What did you have over the weekend? We saw them reporting mid 40s

We were mid to high 30’s on the coast. 10k inland and it was in the 40’s. Today is the most uncomfortable as the humidity is a lot higher.

We’ve got by by having a bucket of ice with diet 7-up and wine on the terrace.

14st 7lb last Monday - 14st 1lb today. No carbs; no sugar; no chocolate or sweets. Want at least another stone off. Once there just a bit of re-education of my eating thinking and habits and portion sizes, plus less ‘greedy me’.

That’s what me and the wife did. No faddy diet, no counting this and that, no jabs, just ate better stuff and less of it.

Last day of a lads beano to Benidorm. The only bit of fruit or veg I’ve eaten in 4 days is the lime wedge that comes in my drink. 6 weeks to the family holiday so hoping to get straight back to it when home.

Despite dropping nearly a stone in the last six months, I still have a fat stomach. I should really start doing some press-ups & sit-ups at home perhaps - but I've started this several times in the past and I never keep it up more than a week or two. As soon as you miss one day, that's it, it's over.

What's the least amount I could do each do that would still make a difference? Or are there any other exercises that would be more effective? Must be the bare minimum otherwise I'll just abandon it quickly again. 😄 Planking maybe?
