Losing weight/fitness thread

Was a bit down yesterday after finishing. It was a very bitter sweet occasion.
Firstly I didn’t enjoy myself, too much pressure on myself not enough enjoying the atmosphere. I needed too stop at 4 miles for the loo. Then again at 19 miles as my sock was rubbing. Then at 20 miles turned my ankle over.
Had to hobble the last part run / walking. Was on for sub 4 hours til then even with the stops. Ended up,with 4:21 still very respectable but disappointing after 80% of the race had gone so well. Ended up doing 26.7 miles at the finish as so busy and having to dodge people stopping getting boxed in etc

If I ever get in again, it will be an easy one to sample the atmosphere.

Still a great effort completing it in that time with those set back ls during the race as well and something to be very proud of.

Mixed bag today. Had my specialist Physo appt this lunch time, she’s binned off all the exercises that I was given as she said they’re not helping me heal and are actually antagonistic towards my injury so now I’ve got just 2 isometric exercises instead. Confirmed my internal rotation on my hip basically non existent which would explain my huge swing flaw of early extension! Basically on these exercises then go back next week for a review and full screening 😳

Did an upper body session in the gym they had on site afterwards but felt a bit half hearted after the physio.

You're in the 1% club mate, great effort👌🏾

Had 3 really good weeks training. Back to alternating between dumbbell and kettlebell sessions. Shoulder feels really good, exercises from the physio were spot on. Says a lot about having an hour session with actual hands on instructions rather than printed out sheet of paper.

As always I really need to sort out Fri to Sunday with drinking and eating!! So easy to just grab whatever whenever and enjoy a few too many drinks - not loads but too many to push up the calories and mess up the weeks work!!

Absolutely great effort, you twisted your ankle with 6.5 miles to go and you dug in to get the job done.
You would have 100% of broken 4 hours, your training has been spot on.
You should be proud of the resilience you showed after the set backs.
Take a break and go again.
