Well known bandits

Clubs are not interested in what you win away from home. When I won H4H and MashleyR7 came 2nd we both put our cards in for handicapping and they weren't interested.

It's because they aren't qualifiers

Can't put a card in after a good score

Clubs can't put the score in against your HC - they can only use it for possible evidence at AR

I understand that, what I'm really pointing out is that clubs only are concerned about their own home results. They didn't know that I hadn't won a £1,000 holiday

Clubs are "concerned" with any result that is deemed a qualifier home or away - clubs are concerned with following Congu rules

The only score that matters to your HC is when you know that any score you make effects your HC - because that's what gives a true reflection - playing when your HC is on the line.

Agreed Phil, but someone posted earlier that ALL results should count. I understand the system but clubs aren't worried if their members win "big prize" comps of rogue handicaps they seem only concerned about their own comps.

That's not true Chris

The HC Sec ( as I am one ) are also concerned about their members HC - it's in the full list of responsiblities from Congu

When it comes to AR I get as much evidence as possible including society or away scores etc. If they are only playing minimum qualifiers but cleaning up societies or swindles etc then they can and will be cut

The people winning the "big prizes" of rogue HC is a small pool - very small - but they get highlighted - it's not a rife as such.'

The way it should be Phil but doesn't happen at many clubs I know of

That's the issue here though, Its a free holiday each all expenses paid to Portugal or Dubai.

Why pay a £1000 for a holiday when you can have one for a £25 entry fee.

The only way things will change is when people stop entering them and then the organisers have to make a decision.

I raised this previously, how can a holiday to Portugal, with flights (including clubs), transfers, hotel, food I assume, several rounds of golf, range balls? more prizes?, a round with Darren Clarke in a European Tour Pro Am, fall within the Rules of Amateur Status?

It absolutely cannot.

If anyone would care to read those rules, you will see that the prizes must be priced up at the time they are awarded, you can't say that flights were booked a year ago for £25.

Also, expenses must be paid through the golf union, clearly that doesn't happen.
