Using a tee on par 3's

I agree with the perfect lie. I normally use broken off wooden tees that I pick up around the tee box.
(Not Scottish either)

Always use a tee...but don't like teeing it down too low, I don't like tight lies. Don't know why but it can bring on the shanks! I tend to tee mine up a bit higher and then compensate for the reduction in loft by taking one more club and trying to swing easier. I know it's wrong......but it suits me. It must be an age thing.

I use these too but can't find anyone my end that stocks them! Where do you get yours from?

For some inane reason I never even thought of eBay!! Doh school boy error! I've been searching all the pro shops, ranges and sports shops around me!

Ha - first place I go for everything! Pretty sure my postman hates me!

I used to use a broken wooden tee all the time for irons but have stopped now for 8, 9 and PW. I found it made me concentrate less for some reason and hit more bad shots than usual. Now I just make sure I've got a nice lie on the ground.

I use a tee for 6 and below. 7 and above I find a nice level smooth part of the box.. I just feel better playing off the deck.. Just me I suppose...

It's a hard enough game without coming over all macho and trying to hit it off the deck into a par 3. Give yourself the best opportunity to make the ideal strike and put it on a peg

I hardly think hitting an iron off the deck is macho

It depends on the conditions off the day but generally I would use a tee.

I tend to find I get a better connection and more piercing ball flight off the deck. It aint Macho, its fact. If I want to knock it up really high then I'll tee it up...

I never use a tee with an iron. Nothing to do with being macho, just the only way I can avoid shanking. What ever suits you best is the way to go. Love it when 'experts' seem to know what is best for some else.
