US Ryder Cup Wildcards

Azinger has delayed his FOUR wildcard picks for a few weeks until after Europe has completed their line-up.

As the Americans qualifying will have finished a whole month before this time he would surely know who is in form, just outside automatic qualifying etc. I would have thought he would have a good idea who his picks are going to be. Or are his picks going to be determined by who is on the European side.

It's just mind games. He probably knows who he is going to pick already (and the sponsors will have selected (nominated) some).
Tiger will be in - so that's at least 1/2 pt to us.

It is kind of flattering to the Europeans to think that Azinger can't choose his team until he knows who he will be playing.

He is probably hoping that a few players will make a late run during the Fed Ex Cup which is being played before teh Ryder Cup.

It also gives players not in the top 8 a second chance to make an impression.
