US Open 2025 - Oakmont

Perfect conditions for Bob to really show his worth…which is clearly top $$. You’d think it rained a lot on Glencruitten - though that doesn’t mean he likes it any more than anyone else 🤔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿☔

What a finish by JJ…

Interesting to see that there have been no words about Hatton slamming a club into the ground and snatching his towel from his caddy......
If you're going to slag off someone for being petulant - and I'm not arguing about that - then, at least, show some consistency and slag everyone off.....

Hatton gets grief regardless but in the interest of fairness what a door

None of my bets came in, I think only 2 of them even made the cut but I don’t think I saw a single one hit a shot they were that far back!

Just logged into paddy power, £10 balance, tried working out who had come in for me… turns out I didn’t actually place the bets I’d chosen, absolutely delighted!!!

A great win and compulsive viewing.

Saw an interview with an Oakmont Board Member early in the week.
When asked for his hopes for the championship.
1. "the course plays hard"
2. "We have an iconic name winner to add to our extinguished list of winners" Sure he was thinking a Scottie, Rory or Rahm

Ben Hogan
Jack Nicklaus
Johnny Millar
Larry Nelson
Ernie Els
Angel Cabrera
Dustin Johnson
JJ Spaun

I believe I saw Scott slam a club into the ground after one disappointing shot.

This sort of behaviour really needs to be stamped out of the game, before the kids start smashing up golf courses and the club house :ROFLMAO:

Closest I got was Ben Griffin, but he needed to be top 8. He was one shot away from it, finishing tied 10th. He bogeyed the last hole just to make sure I don't receive any money. I don't forget things like this. He's on the 💩 list now.

I’m not a fan of Hatton, and have said so….plenty others on here state similar..

Hatton is often criticised in the media for his poor antics, and by many golfers, and is not given the same level of fawning, adulation and idolatry from Sky or NLU or most other golf outlets, inc the BBC, that Rory gets…
Rory has won far more obvs…

The criticism Rory gets from some on here a reaction to the media drivel / idolatry of him, and because the media is barely critical of his petulance (until perhaps a couple of weeks ago)

Slamming a club into the ground was never the issue tho was it

Smashing tee boxes and launching clubs down the fairway are completely different from a frustrating display afters

When Rory launched his club at his bag (caught it. Class) that's not a big deal at all as it's his own property but when he launches it down the fairway it gets into leagues of could hurt someone else and when he smashes a tee box he looks an idiot

Spaun’s drive on 17 was outstanding but I almost thought the one on 18 was better. At that point he had the pressure of being the leader and expected winner, and we’d just seen about 5 players stuff it right in or around the bunker. Miss the fairway and a 5 or worse is virtually certain. He hits a laser beam down the middle. Well played!

Without that horrendous luck on 2 he wins at a canter (yes I know it doesn’t work like that 🤣).

His club was nowhere near anyone when he threw it

Shhhh. That doesn't fit the narrative that he is endangering the lives of others

Again not what I said. I said it goes into the realms of endangering people. Regardless of if anyone is there or not if you throw a club that far you are completely out of control of it

I'm sorry the Rory fan club can't accept the golden boys behaviour since the masters has been worse than Hatton

I am getting overwhelmed by zero torque putters … is this the start of a run of victories comparable to the Anser and 2 ball ??
