US PGA 2025 Quail Hollow

Ok I’ll put it in simple terms for you

If someone knows the ball is going into the crowd and they don’t shout fore - are they an idiot

Just a yes or no
Probably yeah, but it's nothing to do with Clark launching a club into an ad board! You're using whataboutery to try and move on from the fact that you were the only person who didn't think it was that serious.

And that was the point of the post 🤦‍♂️

That golfers at times are idiots

Clark was an idiot for what he did just like idiots who don’t shout fore

It was very simple to understand

Clark threw his club , it hit a hoarding and I expect he will face some level of sanctions

He has helped his hand up and will all move on now

Unprofessional golfers get away with things that they should be punished for.
Throwing clubs,
Not shouting “Fore”

It’s not a great look or lesson for any young people taking up the sport.

In most golf clubs around the country what would happen if you put your driver through a sponsors hoarding in an open or major comp.?

My club would show you the door absolutely no dought.

Is this your attitude every time someone says sorry? Or will there be occasions you are not ready to move on in your criticism despite them holding their hands up?

We'll all move on, none of us will be talking about Clark and his club throwing as the days go on. But we are just a few days after the event, and all people are saying is that they think he should face a tough sanction, you are saying it should be less severe.

The debate isn't even about Clark really. It became more a debate about how serious club throwing can be, as you seemed to dilute it and trivialize it quite a bit. At which point others gave accounts as to when it can actually be deadly serious. And, lets be honest. Of the occasions somebody has been killed or hospitalised by a flying club, I'd like to think in 99% of those occasions that the club thrower had zero intent or expectation to hurt anyone. And these club throwers often only have 1-3 other people around them. The pros could have dozens, even over one hundred, people around them

Surely it’s about context

Not sure if the hoarding is ready to move on though - but we can ask

Yes club throwing is bad - don’t expect anyone to suggest anything as such and I don’t recall saying that

I was very simply suggesting that the Marshall was a touch over dramatic and that a ban was over zealous

it’s an isolated incident for the golfer who will no doubt but sanctioned

Maybe it's a communication issue you have with other people reading your comments. To highlight the comments you made that suggested you were trivialising it:

"Scared to death 😂😂

Should be some sort of punishment but talks of bans etc is a bit silly"

"Kill someone ?!?

😂"

"Accidents happen in all walks of life even in sport , no one deliberately looks to hurt someone for goodness sake"

Maybe it was the laughing emojis, or the fact that you seem to think a thrown club cannot potentially kill someone. And once people confirmed that this can happen, rather than say "ahh, fair enough", you just seemingly continued to keep digging the hole, comparing an act of rage to an errant golf ball, etc. It is probably why these debates continue on much longer than they need to.

So yep as I said

Someone being overdramatic imo

And no need for a ban imo

But time to move

Regardless of everything and anything, chucking and breaking your driver like that deserves a tournament ban. The only argument is how long, not if. Crowd safety is on the list of reasons, but it's not top!😉

Rory missing interview is poor form. I don’t know what he's contracted to do, if he's in breach, they'll be something coming his way. He'll have his reasons, they are his reasons.
