US Open 2025 - Oakmont

Personally I just find major winners who take until their mid 30s to win a major a bit dull. We won't see him challenge for a major again I reckon

Like Danny willet

I like to see someone win and be the next hot shot, like spieth and Scotty
Both Garcia and Scott didn’t win majors until they were in their 30’s

Does Adam Scott require as much condemnation as Rory has received in recent years for his absolute "bottle job" of 8-over for his final 13 holes?
He has had only one top-5 finish in a major in the last 10 years and it is 12 years since his one and only major win.
At 44 years old, is it pretty much all over for him now?

I don't believe any of the above. He remains a good player in my view. I just don't like to watch him putt.

How about the focus should be on the great back 9 from Spaun to win it instead of the normal British trait of looking to see who threw it away or who didn’t win

Fully agree.
And what made his back nine even more impressive is that it came straight after a pretty dismal front nine.
A drive for show on 17 and a putt for dough on 18. He did both very impressively indeed.

I watched yesterday from when the leaders were on the 8th.

For the sharp end of a mayor there were a lot of shots from the rough instead of fairways or greens. Different to other tournaments I watched.

Dull weather, drab looking course, but well done to JJ on being the only person to break par (sorry for the bad language).

I think Hovland should be disqualified. To intentionally put his second just behind Spaun's, to give him a read of the putt. Unforgivable :)
With that accuracy one would think he would have put his second right by the pin to have a chance of finishing tied 2nd rather than 3rd.
Perhaps he had a massive bet on Spaun and wanted to be sure of winning that.

Really exciting finish. About 7 players could have won it coming up the last three holes.

Tremendous skill and bottle shown by Spaun. He deserves a lot of credit 👏👏👏
Imagine if Rory had driven the green on 17 then rolled in a 60 foot putt on 18 to finish birdie birdie and clinch the championship. People would have been wetting themselves.

Got to be honest, I have seen a fair few photos of the old and new course and it has had loads of trees removed. I thought it made the course look open and bland.
