There will be a few doubters, the odd technophobe and a couple of twitter haters but I am still going to stick my neck out and say it is a whole new world. I was a sceptic for some time but the banter between the professionals is utterly brilliant. Rory McIlroy went on a Q&A mission last night and he along with Poults, G-Mac and Westwood are really funny to follow.

You also get some good links from Golf Monthly to articles and competitions. I was a massive doubter but it really is a brave new world. Try it, you might like it. :D

Must admit now that Westwood has joined it's pretty funny watching him ripping it out of "chicken legs", Poulter is funny as well sometimes, although usually only when he says something like "Feeling really confident, going to go low tomorrow" and promptly shoots 75... Must admit I haven't followed the Mac attack twins yet.

best was yesterday.... woods and Poults on the putting green.

Woods: "Don't ya know how to mark yer ball?"
Poults: "Settle down number 2"

Brilliant :D

I must be old. Do you have to register to read anything? If not, the search engine is rubbish. Why do I have to register, it isn't like I am going to post anything? This modern guff is beyond me.

I don't know my twitter from my elbow

There was some good banter between Westy and Poults at the weekend, but I got fed up and unsubscribed when my phone started beeping at 04:30 Sunday morning as the pair of them were tweeting from Dubai........

To follow it properly, do you need a BlackBerry/iPhone?

Nope, just get an account at www.twitter.com and you're good to go. Select who you want to "follow" and they'll appear in your "twitter feed".

You don't need an account to see the stuff they post, but it makes life alot easier.

Only recently started following the British golfers, the banter to be had is most excellent.

You can turn the notifications off, you know that right?

Also, I just put my phone into "airplane mode" when I'm asleep so I don't get any unwanted late night texts/calls.

I agree that the banter has been great over the past 2 weeks. Been on twitter for about a year following most of the golfers on it and it has been mostly v dull with the occassional funny from Poults. Westwood has really made it much more interesting and funny. Worth a look.

that's what I did when I said unsubscribe - meant stopped the notifications to my phone. With or without sound they become a burden, especially the amount Westy was tweeting over the weekend.

Will limit it to logging in and checking every now and then. Did like the Poults no2 tweet

I follow all of them and it's great fun to read, I also follow bubba Watson, titliest and ping!! It's good becuase u can see loads of pictures of the behind the scenes on the tour world!!

Must follow GM! Just given away a Galvin Green jacket to one lucky winner..... I'll say this only once, great chances to win on Twitter...

I started following Ian Poulter in the build up to the Ryder Cup. He gave a great behind the scenes view of it.

I now follow:
Ian Poulter
Paul Casey
Oliver Wilson
Oliver Wilson's caddy
Lee Westwood
Justin Rose
Tiger Woods

I also check the two Macs every once in a while.
