2025 Major Champions

It was a pretty good major season. I'm sorry there was little or no drama at the PGA or The Open. Scottie just ran away with both of them. It's clear he is the best player right now and his four year body of work is impressive. While my guess is he will continue to dominate. However, a couple of other players have come out and won multiple majors early on and then seemed to fade. Will Scottie be different? I guess we will see.

Yeah Scottie is still (just) in the hot streak sweet spot a lot of golfers get where a lot of success comes in a concentrated period over their career and while they still get successes before/after the hot streak very very few have a streak lasting longer than 3 seasons

Scheffler all 4 for me, so 2 out of 4 correct. Unless something significant changes between now and March, I would probably go Scheffler all 4 again.

There are hot streaks and there is what Scheffler is doing. Spieth, Rahm, Day, D Johnson, etc. There are loads out there that have good runs, but they didn't win as much as Scheffler has, particularly the major championships. The only one close in that department is Brooks Koepka, who then never did as well as Scheffler in the regular tour events.

Even if Scheffler goes off the boil now, this stretch of golf has been a level that we haven't seen since Tiger. I hope it continues though, as it is great to see someone dominate, imo.

Yes, Scottie's roll does seem different. He's so precise it kind of get boring. He rarely gets in trouble so we don't get those amazing recovery shots Tiger and Phil used to play. I'm not ready to anoint him the new Tiger, but if he keeps this going another season or two it's clear we are looking at an era.
