TV Series - What Are You Watching?

We watched Adolescence over the weekend. Binged it in one go. It's quite heavy going as every episode is very thought provoking.
It also makes you realise how difficult it is for parents as, with social media, you just have no idea what your kids could be involved in, or subjected to.

My wife is always checking our twos phones. She's also banned them from certain social media platforms.

Started watching Adolesence last night. Completed all 4 episodes. It was brilliant and heart breaking.

Definitely one of the best things on TV. And I can imagine it would mean even more to many parents and teen kids

When you consider that it was all done in one shot did add to it and also got me thinking on a few things:
  • The actors had to spend a lot of on-screen time doing very intense acting. All were excellent with Owen Cooper as Jamie doing excellent work for such a young actor.
  • The location of the camera going from low level to drone to close ups (How Netfilix shot Adolescence in one take)
Well done to the entire crew and cast for making it work so well.

The director at my company was asking about that very same thing today, wondering how they did the camera work, particularly for some scenes. And yes, the acting was incredible, especially from a kid, who apparently had no prior acting experience.

Anyone know which episode took 13 takes to get right. I suspect it was when Jamie was with the psychiatrist. That was incredible acting from the young Jamie!

That was the first episode they shot as well. They were worried about the casting of Jamie, knowing what the 3rd episode required.

I think that video posted above says they were all done on the last take, except the first episode that was done on the second? I would guess the 2nd episode would take the longest to get right. You had so many people, including lots of kids, in that episode. Plus the chase scene at the end.

The 3rd episode would have been far the easiest to film logistically, although it also was the biggest task for the actors in it, as two of them (including the kid) were in it for the vast majority. In fact, was the actress in it for the entire episode?
