Hope that’s the GM Forum team!

No problem for me. However, I subscribe to their magazine and never have it delivered on time it usually arrives about 2 weeks after publication!!

What do you expect when you go over to the dark side. The magazine is ok and I'll read it purely to pass the commute to and from work but it does seem to be more of a marketing tool for Taylor Made/Adidas primarily and some of the other big boys to a lesser extent.

The only features I like are the course reviews and their equipment tests. That said the fantasy golf (especially as a freebie) is a good effort

Its not snobbery mate (well knind off, I suppose?).

Golf punk is not a golf mag its like soft porn, I tried reading it on commute to work and felt like a pervert I had to put it away after only a few minutes! Its full of T + A, Rubbish golf reviews completed by well know golfers such as Matt Dawson? And poor spelling and grammar. I know im awful but im in a rush and its not my job.

I also read it as a stop gap whilst waiting for GM. It has been getting progressively worse in its bias and now is full of naff, gimicky articles. Latest issue has best courses for under £40.00. Last year they reviewed Rutland Water and said it was great with a number of 'stand out' holes. Costs £20.00 a round but no mention.

Worst example of bias was the hybrids edition. Had a cover line inviting you to see the details of the best hybrid inside and a big picture of a Burner Hybrid under it despite the fact that the Baffler won in the article. They also voted Motocaddy S3 the best trolley in the same edition that they had a comp for subscribers to win one.

I keep telling myself to stop buying but one golf mag does not last a whole month.

However Rutland does get alot of publicity in TG as they often use it on tests etc.

The trolley thing does 'smell a bit'. Gotta agree there.

Have you noticed the 'This month we've tested' section. The Senior Equipment Editor has in his bag, a one month old Taylor Made Tour Burner Driver (freebie?), Taylor Made r7 TP irons, 2 months old (freebies?). I'd not really noticed the TM bias in TG, but since someone on here pointed it out it does seem a little obvious.

I've got no problem with these guys having kit to test, but when it goes into their bags for a short time, there cannot be any bias towards a particular brand. Naive, perhaps, but alot of people read these mags, and assume that they are getting an unbiased review.

I cant get on the their web site keep getting message saying site might be undergoing maintenance been like it for 3-4 days now
They have changed the URL, if you've got it saved you'll need to change it. It's been fine for me, and is working fine now.

TG also hasn't had an interview with anybody except celebs for months. GM and G world have loads of pro chat. TG is a waste of space.

True, their offices are in Peterborough just down the road from where I work. They use both Rutland Water and Rutland County for tests at times but mainly use Swingers driving range in Peterborough (The pro there is more often than not the pro on their review panel).

Still cannot believe some of the tat they are putting in now. Month before last was 2 pages on clubs they had built from household objects and this month was how to use garden tools to help in your practice. That is up there with the 50 drills using a golf tee.

I've read all the Golf magazines now and have plumped for GM, only cos it's a balanced read (also, I don't think they will run a Kia around the UK to play five coursed and promote the car). GP is like reading FHM - totally unoriginal and faddish. Golf world appears to be the 'classier' end of TG, sharing the same web domain. If I want more golf stuff to read I peek at this forum - far more informed.

Sorry, this doesn't get you into the TG site, does it? Perhaps it's ready now...

Can get TG a week before GM delivered it just gives me something to laugh at.
This months big big error A "Fyfe" is a type of whistle a "Fifer" is a loon who comes from Fife.
There will be a lot of outraged scots bears grumbling into their pints in the clubhouse.

Todays Golfer is a lame duck. I buy it purely to leave in the office for dinner and toilet breaks. Golf Monthly is decent but theres to much from Bill Elliot who I find a bit tiresome and barely anything in there stretches past 3 pages, though I do enjoy the results columns at the back. Golf World is my personal fave by a mile.
