Greetings

Would like some opinions if you will on whether to get my clubs lengthened. I am 6ft 2" and play with regular sized clubs. Some of my mates of the same height have clubs between 1" and 2" bigger than mine. I have been debating whethr r not to change them but worried I am gonna start smashing the ground before the ball (do enough of that already). Also not sure what kind of positive impact it will actually have. Any comments/ experiences? Thanks

Go to a proper club fitter or to your club pro and have him look at your swing. I am 6ft 1.5" but when my irons were looked at in the context of my swing the decision was that I was just about standard length and, if anything, the decision would have been to shorten them very slightly (the fitter was a perfectionist and was talking fractions of an inch mainly to take out the manufacturing imperfections)

Dont seem too short to me, i would worry if i was topping the ball!

I am 6ft 2, and standard length, my mate is 6ft 4 and 1/2" longer, it all depends on your swing. You can't tell just from someones' height.

Bear in mind longer clubs are harder to hit.

Also, + 2" is a huge amount to add on a golf club!

I thought it was all to do with your wrist-hand length to floor.

One of my mates is tall like you but has arms like a gorilla and plays with shortened clubs.

Almost certainly. Go and see the right person and get it done. It's not expensive to stick a plug in the end and re-grip after all. It is clearly about how far your hands are from the floor, but unless you have unusually long arms, anyone over 6'0" would be wise to have a look into this.
My only ever custom set was 1/2" longer....on a 6' frame.

htl is right. It has more to do with how far your arms are from the ground rather than height. A lot of pros will measure for you for free. It'll take 5 minutes.
