The Sour Taste

If that's cloaked willy waving, let's all turn our pockets out and pretend it's an elephant stampead! :D great shooting, but I hear you.

I have often discussed (mostly on here) the better score orbetter striking debate? Me personally would prefers to strike well all day than hack around to a P.B. It just makes me feel better.

If I play really crap all the way round, I can save my mood by birdie or even parring the last. I like to finish well!

I shot a Pb 78 last week and screamed about it. Did I mention I was more mad that I fluffed a chip on the last and finsished with a bogey. I was more annoyed with that than I was happy with my score!

Alchemy: No offence bud, was just a bit of banter with a hint of jealousy, and a side portion of respect to go alongside.

Fine scoring indeedy.

My own PB is 2 over Gross, which when I look back was all just sooooo easy on the day, just where do those days come from ? :D

I agree with Alchemy a poor finish no matter what the final score does annoy you.

We all remember the poor shots/decisions we made in a round but generally forget the luck bounces etc we receive in a round.

Still good shooting Alchemy.

We all remember how that putt or three putt has cost us.

On Wednesday when playing at Lichfield I had 4 parrs over the first four holes & my only regret was putts on two of the holes left short or on the lip & one shot taken on the fairway where I had a misshit & cost myself a shot.

Thing is it was still 4 parr's so as an amature I should be happy, but know it could have been at least 2 birdies & an eagle. On the 5th everything went downhill & couldn't buy a putt till the 18th but as a high handicapplayer I ought to be happy. Nay... extatic. & i'll ignore th fact for the moment that the stableford points the end were nowt to write home about.

Was very happy indeed to beat my 16 handicap mate by one shot without taking into acount handicap at Allestree on Friday. Again couldn't buy a putt & still had three holes that were eights & nines that said I hit 12 out of 13 fairways & hit all but one parr 3 in one shot had 6 parrs.

Considering my putting average according to the sureshot was 2.3 I had numerous 3 putts & even a 4 putt. So sort those

I could be disapointed as I do know I can do better, but was overjoyed at the good things in my game & the final result.

Played my 1st comp of the year today.I was not intending to but friends put me down so that was that.I had not played since playing with Querty last weekend so it felt like a bit of a journey into the unknown although I did play solid last week.Played pretty well today but the par 5s which should be pick up holes cost me big time.
Left the course feeling a little deflated, the difference between finishing well and finishing bad makes such a difference to your mood after the round.
Had a real sour taste today on leaving the 18th as the last 3 holes should yield some birdie opportunity's,got myself into a great position with some textbook golf on the back 9 and then just let it slip and cost me the comp.
