The Go-Kart

I'm not using my position (not sure what position that is btw) as the go-kart breeding programme is open to anyone who already has a go-kart. I'm simply asking those that have decided to purchase one to PM me so I can get and give the £5 credit. I've approached those interested in buying one offline and offered the chance to partake. Some have politely said no and others have taken me up on the offer. I don't see anything wrong in that

I have no affiliation to go-kart and haven't received any inducement or incentive to push the product over an above the breeding programme. I just happen to think this is a great bit of kit in the same way as I've pushed scoresaver2 on here, SC5, etc etc

Homer.

I meant no accusation. Just wondered what all the 'Secret Squirrel' stuff was. You didn't have to explain it publicly, a pm would have surficed. However it would appear that others had different concerns. Which have now been cleared up.

For what it's worth. I really don't give a monkeys if there is anything going on. It's just that it wasn't very subtle if there was. If you get my drift.

Fair enough...I'm just pointing out that that is what it is starting to look like to me..and by position i mean ...some one who has a part in saying what can or can't be printed in a mainstream magazine.

I have absolutely no say whatsoever. I submit my pieces which are meet the forum (pen pictures of form members) a review (submitted by a forum member) and a round up of forum meets plus a brief breakdown of what we have been talking about on here. It is purely up to Mike Harris if he thinks the pieces are suitable. Over and above my submissions I have no influence over anything connected with GM

Well Homer..It may be just me but, it does make me feel a little uncomfortable seeying you in thread after thread banging on about how good Gokart is and then following it up with a "pm me" or whatever in order for you to make some personal gain from it. I know its open to any one and its only small but it is just a bit likely to rub poeple up the wrong way.
Thats all i'm saying. Just be carefull thats all.

If its just me then don't worry about it.
I guess i'll have to deal with my own issues with it in silence.

I read the comments (in several threads) and various reviews in various press and I have ordered one today. I liked their website and thought the product had a good design. Will post thoughts once it arrives and I get to try it out. I have never used a powered trolley before - so I'll find out if it helps my overall game too.
I opted for green with black battery by the way - keeping reasonably sombre.

I thought that was what a forum was for - expressing an opinion. I don't seem to get any comments when I'm berating 118 golf or AG or when I'm extolling the virtues of SC5 and scoresaver2 (which I've pushed extensively over the last twelve months)

I've only asked people to PM me to offer my details for them to take up the offer if they so choose so that a) it was off here and didn't become irritating for everyone to keep reading and b) I didn't want my e-mail and postcode made general knowledge

This so called personal gain has just earned me a free umbrella holder (excluding p&p). Ok it was only £20 but for the sake of 4 PM's it paid for itself. I don't see any problem in that at all.

I think I have made my motives and position regarding go-kart and GM crystal clear and so I'll leave it there (unless anybody else decides to question my motives and integrity)

Homer, the Go Kart website says umbrella holders are still out of stock - how did you manage to get one? They are essential for keeping stuff dry.

In the true spirit of the forum and it's famed rights for free speach, may I just say that I think the Go Kart is the most hideous looking piece of plastic you are likely to find on a golf course.

Give me a powakaddy any day of the week.

:D

;)

I e-mailed them to find out when they were coming in and they said they would contact me. Apparently they have received limited supplies and mailed me directly asking if I was still after one.

I guess the only advice would be to drop them a line and ask when they will be back on general sale.

Bit dodgy that like.

I called them two weeks ago and was told they will be instock in two weeks time and yes you guessed it they are not and emails to them on the subject are being ignored. I want a trolley with a brolley holder and if Gokart can not supply it then back it will go. I remember it took them 5 months to release it in the first instance and if they are planning on fobbing "general" customers off then I would say their service isnt as expected and bigged up by many.

We wait and see how long GoKarts two weeks will be.

On a whim, I looked through the current edition of Golf Monthly to see what the a certain golf trolley manufacturer's advert was like. Funnily enough, I couldn't find it. OK I may have missed it if it was small and tucked away somewhere but I did go through the mag twice.

I suppose that because of dozens of mentions on the Forum over the last few months and the glowing testimonials that some have given they probably feel that their referral system is working well enough that paying for advertising space to GM is not currently necessary. Clever marketing ??

To clear up one point, in an earlier post, Homer said that I did a review of a certain make of electric trolley. It was Smiffy that did the review (I believe). Still, an easy mistake to make (eh Smiffy :)).

One last question...

I have noticed that now after using my trolley, and placed the battery back on charge.

I now find that the 1# is flashing green, rather than staying red, and then going solid green, like it did the first time it was used.

The whole thing confuses me :S:S

Bugger...
I'm not going to get my promised two weeks in the Bahamas like this lads.
Come on.
Buy a GoKart
;)

I didn't buy the GK becuse I wanted some extra features, but after seeing one this week I was kind off pleased as it really did look lower quality than PK or MC, but I suppose thats to be expected for the price
