The Go-Kart

I didn't buy the GK becuse I wanted some extra features, but after seeing one this week I was kind off pleased as it really did look lower quality than PK or MC, but I suppose thats to be expected for the price

I have taken the GK out twice this weekend and though its a good performer the plastic is putting me off. The speed control has scratches on it and the screw holes look like they are fractured + I have also noticed that the left wheel does wobble a little.

The Verdict...

The GK is an excellent peice of kit supported by the best customer service I have known. On the speed roller I have either scratched it quite bad by mistake or it slipped the net at GK testing, I spoke to Sandy and they are collecting mine and dropping a loan one of and fixing mine. The only down side to the GK is that since HID used it on Sunday she insists I buy her one!!!

The power on the GK is really impressive and the looks are great imo, I wasnt so sure until I experienced the service but now I am 100% sure the GK will be staying and maybe breeding if HID gets her way.

lol Sandy was thinking of just sending me a new one to save me waiting in again for mine next week to be redelivered but she changed her mind on the phone :( and I get a loaner and send mine to be fixed (in the cat term).

Yeah I am pretty sure it arrived with some massive scratches on the speed roller but I can't be 100% as I did try and slide it in my locker (which it doesnt fit) and so when I turn the speed up I get the ugly vision of the scratches :(

Great peice of kit though, takes at least 5 seconds to put up. I wasnt that keen on the plastic but I am coming around to the idea.

Received mine today having ordered it on Saturday evening. First impressions are good. It collapses down to a handy size and I like the all in one design. Battery came fully charged which I thought was a nice touch. I was expecting the plastic to put me off - but the finish seems robust and the quality looks good. Will put it to the test either tomorrow or Thursday.

I have been critiscised on here recently for banging on about how good the go-kart was and the after care service. I feel totally vindicated now!

They are very good, just a shame I have to take a day off next week to sign for the return of mine when I am 80% sure the scratch was on it when sent.

I'm glad everyone seems pleased with the GK's, but have to say I don't see what's so great about them sending out a damaged Kart, and then agreeing to change it ?

Homer.

Just to be clear. I was not critiscising you for your comments about the GoKart. Just curious to the "PM me if your interested in one" posts. Which has been cleared up.

If you care to check I've been praising GoKarts as a product for over a year now, in fact ever since I got one myself. Not just on others say so.

Glad that's sorted now then. :D

Now can we drop it! ;)

It wasn't actually aimed at you but more those who seemed to think I was using my "position" as it was put. I think I explained everything and happy to leave it at that. Defintely not a problem with you!

I knew you had been keen on them for a while too. On the subject of what is great about picking up a product that was faulty, I think the feeling is that Parmo thinks it was damaged in construction/delivery but can't be 100% certain. In which case I think its pretty good that GK are taking the wrap either way and picking it up (no additional postage charge) and leaving a replacement.

Y'know what DCB? I'm tending to agree with you. I played with a guy who had one last week. Noisy, rattly, didn't particularly look good. Having said that it worked. Don't take this the wrong way all you Go-Karters but to me it looks like a "poverty" model.....

I will give an honest opinion when tested on the course - and probably best after several rounds to be fair....but in the garden it seemed quiet and the wheels didn't wobble.

Plastic yes - and the design will not be to everyone's taste. But it is at the budget end of the market and my first impressions are good ones.
