Can't get on board with this at all. I've dealt with smug glory supporting weapons all my football-supporting life....United's struggles particularly are an absolute joy to watch.
Talk about sitting on the fence 😂

From my perspective and I have said this before. As a City fan,When we were away to Grimsby and Utd were battering Europe. Let’s just say Tashyboys footballing supporting days were purgatory. The grief I got from Utd fans was relentless. But and this is a massive but. It was predominantly the fans that don’t even know where Old Trafford is, they had never been. The actual fans going to the games. We had many a sensible discussion about football.
So it gives me no great pleasure to lay the boot in when Utd are not where they should be. If anything, being rammel for a couple of decades makes you humble.

I've done the hard yards away to Hartlepool on a Tuesday or not getting back into London until after the tubes have closed down and having to loiter for a night bus or first tube, home shower and inot work. Have some great memories with the 3 mates I used to go with. Football was dire, especially wen we were a game from going out the league we were that bad

I support Forest and always want us to beat you, but will always want Utd and Liverpool to be competitive.
As a supporter of Utd you may not see how some of us view it, but you and Liverpool have been the very definition of English football for most of my adult life and many (not all) of us take no pleasure from seeing you struggle this badly.

I'm in the "not all" camp I'm afraid.

My teenage years were in the era when it seemed like every kid in the school supported Man Utd, despite us not living anywhere near Manchester and none of them having any links to the city or the club in any way, shape or form. And the vast majority probably not being able to point to Manchester on a map. Everyone who didn't support them had to put up with their constant bragging of their successes and their derision of your club's lack of it.

So I'm afraid that with those memories in mind, I cannot muster up a single ounce of sympathy for their current plight.

Football is cyclical though and the rules mean they'll be back, sooner or later.

In the unlikely event that we were to win another title, I'd much rather it was by bettering a top quality big 6 than getting lucky in a year when half of them are in the doldrums.

Being honest - don’t care what state others are in when we win a trophy

When it shows in the records it doesn’t highlight the others clubs

This in abundance.

Part of me feels for those fans but only in the sense of "welcome to what its like to be a fan of a normal club" :ROFLMAO:

No one is entitled to success.

Very impressed with Forest and the way they managed the game, Elanga, Forest, Nico and your Brazilian guy at the back were outstanding

What’s with the singing of Mull of Kintyre?

Became synonymous with the club back in the glory days of Clough (there's a full rendition with the lyrics changed), and has stuck with the club...but wasn't sung pre-game until 2008 against Yeovil Town of all teams and has been sung ever since.

I'm biased, but it's one of the best pre-game anthems and certainly one that generates the best atmosphere (outside of maybe YNWA - after which you don't hear the scousers for the next 90 mins ;) ).

Still gives me goosebumps every time I experience it.

😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲

Wash your mouth out man!!!!!!

YNWA is dirge, MoK is a squillion times superior!

(You're right about not hearing the Scousers once they're done with that bit though!)

What I will say about living in Nottinghamshire and football supporters. It is a very weird county to follow football.

Why? Coal mining. When I emigrated from Rochdale to Mansfield in 1970. I followed City and Rochdale. I went to primary school and kids followed Newcastle, Sunderland, Celtic, Rangers, Wrexham, Cardiff, Utd, City, Leeds, Sheffield Clubs, London clubs, Forest, County, Derby, etc etc etc etc. because the miners had come from all over the country. Now bearing in mind I started mining in 1979 and there was over 30,000 coal miners in Nottinghamshire. Forest were massively punching above there weight under Cloughie, ( and I don’t mean that disrespectfully) yet never got the fans that jumped on the band wagon like Utd did when the premier league kicked up at the time Utd went on a glorious run.
Ave just had to Google this. In 1980 I was at the local drill hall disco Friday night, I was 17. I was asked if I fancied going to watch Forest v Wolves in the league cup final at Wembley. Forest as European cup holders were favourites. They got beat 1-0. They couldn’t sell there allocation. And it was not just Forest, City were in that boat as were many clubs. And I have lost count how many times I went to watch United v City at both Maine rd and the Swamp because Mansfield Reds could not sell all there Tickets. So Bernie Morton from the North east, a die hard United fan 🤔😳 who run the bus got me and me dad to go. Me dad loved those trips to see the derby games coz as a kid, one week he watched City and the next he went to watch Utd. He went with a dozen pals who did the same. They followed City and United. It was one of those games we watch City batter Utd 5-1. Me and me dad were the only City fans in the United end. How we got out alive I don’t know. Oh ah talking to all the city fans that went to that game. The last count there was 263,427 City fans there and the number is rising. 😆👍

Talking of anthems before footy matches…..Has anyone seen that College American Football team who walk in to “Enter the Sandman” ? The whole place bounces!!! If you did that at OT the stand would collapse 😂

On the Elanga discussion…..I didn’t really raise an eyebrow when he left UTD. He was a decent player but I don’t think anyone saw him becoming what he has at Forest so fair play to them.

Watching Antony at Betis and Mctominay at Napoli. They’re both doing well. It either shows either how much harder it is in the Prem, or, how bad Utd have been at managing players……probably both.

With Antony I think it’s definitely more towards the league and him being nowhere near good enough

McTominay though always looked a decent player and the sort of hardworking player the team needs
