Sent a lovely message to a PP last night.I reminded him that he thought Elanga was rammel and don’t know how he gets in the team. 😁
I bet if you ask him, he’ll have thought the same about Brennan. I hear the same nonsense every week from small pockets of fans at the city ground. Haven’t got the foggiest idea what they’re on about 😂

Elanga was out of form at the start of the season but has been top class since about November.

When I watched City get battered by the team that Amorim managed in the champs league ( sporting cp). I must say I was massively impressed with his team. When he went to Utd I must say I thought it a step in the right direction.
But I have massive reservations and it is nothing to do with Amorim. But more to do with who picked him. When Sporting battered City, it was very similar to last nights game between Forest and Utd. City dominated Sporting and were hit on the break far to regular. Utd dominated Forest who hit on the break. But Sporting had players like Gyokores, he was fantastic. Last night Utd brought on a defender as the strikers are just not doing it. This sums it up.
And there in lies the problem.
Amorim had the players at Sporting to play his limited system. At Utd he don’t. I don’t blame Amorim for that but surely whoever choose Amorim must of realised that. Did Amorim realise that ? The thing is that it has gone on and on with far to many managers.

Another thing that I noticed the other day that should be a concern. Scruffy Jim’s INEOS.
I was first aware of this with the cancellation of the New Zealand all blacks sponsorship.

Big Jim is looking down the back of the settee for loose change. The guy brought in to oversee the financial situation of Utd has not got his own house in order. And it seems to me that Karen who works in the INEOS canteen could be outta work soon.

There’s just something about UTD at the moment is seriously not adding up. A guy who’s own company is massively in debt is brought it to sort out a company/ football club who is massively in debt. Yet there are grandiose plans for a new multi billion pound stadium. 😳 and The team needs hundreds of millions spending on it. 😳 And yet Utd fans are happy that last night was a step In the right direction.

This is going to run and run re the Utd woes and won’t be rectified til the club is sold. But if you were the Glaziers, would you sell the golden goose whilst continuing to sell the golden eggs.
Totally agree. It is a mess. It has been a mess for a good few years and will be a mess for agood few more to come. It isn't the managers fault, although ultimately they pay the price. When a club is broken top to bottom, what happens on the pitchis a partial reflection of the woes but there is a lot more going on. How can they hope to attract the best players going forward

What price can you put on those memories with your old man? (Some you'd rather forget, but plenty of good ones I'm sure.)

I'm pretty much the same, the best part of the day is with the lads up until kick off, they won't be dropping season ticket prices next season, £750 for that, but I can't stop. Like those blokes who pay women to kick them in the nuts.
But that costs a lot less than £750.

So i am told.

It’s more than just the football, it’s spending quality time with my dad (and my 23 year old autistic son who loves going!) it’s £2200 to renew for the both of us which I will stump up as I know I will look back in a few years time with tears in my eyes.

But honestly some of the performances lately would bring a tear to a glass eye!😂

Can’t argue with his success but his last season was dreadful. Everything runs its course and it would have been perfect if he had bowed out after the Euro win.

Even that last season getting to 9th with also trying to compete in the Europa is still worlds away from this season

Moyes doesn’t play attractive football but he gets results from the players he has - if you kept him imo you would be mid table at worst

But Potter is a good manager but needs to undo a lot of rubbish that “Jlo” did

Agree the last bit, Potter will need a few transfer windows to turn it into his team.

I was listening to Talksport on my way home last night and they had a Man Utd fan on who was saying that wing backs are absolutely crucial to Amorim's system and they just don't currently have anyone in the squad who can do the job.

He obviously needs backing in the next transfer window to bring in the players he needs for his style. Will he get it?

You're all loaded down there so you can afford it....

Just had a message from him, “ never mate, quality that man💪😂

He is a step up from the Man Utd wide players because he has an end product , the same with CHO as well

Swap Garnacho and Elanga around and United would have won that game
You mean swap a player who scored the winning goal with the player who had a stinker, and the result would have been different?

That is very observant :ROFLMAO:

But will he get the time in the role. He should as I rate him as a manager and this seems an ideal match in the long term but getting a side sorted by offloading and buying in one window is a big ask. We know how prices then jump in the January window

No swap a player who is capable of having his head up and looking around as well as being able to have an end product with one that goes down blind alleys and has tunnel vision

Re the bolded bit above, there used to be a section in the old Ayresome Park ground called the chicken run. Some fans in there had serious issues :ROFLMAO: Constant moaning and heckling of our own players. I lasted a few games in there before I went into the Holgate End - Boro’s Kop.

I wouldn't be jumping to conclusions just yet though.

Amorim was brought to Utd in November. We've had one transfer window since then, and not a transfer window you really use to plan building a side. More of an emergency window. So, as a Utd fan, I'm simply hoping they are using this as a massive pre-season before the 25/26 season, where Amorim has plenty of time to see who has a future and who has not. Rather than just giving him a couple of months, and then rushing out to buy players to fit his system in January.

But, come September, it will become a lot clearer in how they are judged. I know it won't be easy due to financial constraints, but if we have a squad of players next season who are clearly impotent in front of goal, questions will be asked.

I mean, we are talking about players at different stages of their development. When Elanga left Utd, there were not demonstrations of Utd fans against the move. He was OK, but not a must keep. I've already stated that I wouldn't be overly sad if Utd sold Garnacho. But, that is not to say that in a couple of years, he could be playing much more consistent football, and even score a winning goal against Man Utd if he was up against them. Or, if he stays, perhaps he will become much more consistent.

I'm not shocked by Elanga's performances at Forest. He was always a quick player, so I knew he had that in his locker. And he was involved in some nice moves at Utd, but was also very inconsistent. I say fair play to him. But, if Utd ever sell any young players, I do expect them to improve as footballers anyway, as they become more experienced.
