a lot of those tackles 10/15 years ago weren’t red cards - the whole “got the ball” mantra was used until they changed it all about 5 maybe 6 years ago

It’s a silly rule - but apparently because Diaz is stood still and made no attempt to go for the ball etc he isn’t interfering with play and when he becomes “active” he is then onside
