Your dislike of Sterling is weird. He seems to get hate from a lot of people that I don't think he deserves. He had a spell around 2019 where he was genuinely world class, for City and England. He lost form a little bit around his Chelsea move and has been usurped as the main man by Palmer somewhat. But it's been hard for anyone else to shine in that basketcase club lately. I hope he gets a good move and gets his form back.
Was always going to happen when you played for the clubs he did.

He basically abandoned Liverpool as an up and coming talent, so of course their fans will be bitter. There are a lot of Liverpool fans. There are also a lot of non-Liverpool fans who don't like Liverpool, so they'll have no love for Sterling unless they supported City (and there are not many City fans). Man Utd fans wouldn't exactly warm to him, being a Liverpool and City player. There are a lot of Utd fans. Goes to Chelsea, everyone likes to mock Chelsea these days. And, if he goes to Utd, no doubt that will intensify the critique of him from many angles again. I'm sure there will be plenty of Utd fans lukewarm to him, based on his history I mentioned.

If you could pick a set of clubs to transfer between, and pick the perfect timings to do so to ensure you stirred up a lot of resentment amongst as many fans as possible, I think Sterling has made the perfect choices through his career :)

But, given that I'm doubtful there are too many players who can score goals at Man Utd on a regular basis, I do have to admit Sterling is a player who has shown he can find the back of the net. There is potential that he could come in and give Utd a few more goals, and hopefully give the rest of the attack a bit of help. Of course, there is also the chance he is past his best by a long shot, and it would be a complete flop (although still probably better than Sancho, so in that sense not really worsening Utd)

Sterling is 29 years old, and probably has one good transfer left in him that will see a decent signing on fee. At present he will still be an attractive purchase for decent teams. If he leaves it a couple of seasons he’ll not attract top teams nor will he get the signing on bonus he’ll get now.

Chelsea don’t appear to rate him quite so much now, and certainly their style of play doesn’t seem to suit him. It’s a win for Chelsea to offload him now, for ac number of reasons, and it’s a win for Sterling + another club will get a player young enough to still deliver the goods.

Looks like we are getting Chiesa

Interesting signing - 3 years ago he was one of the hottest players in the game then he did his ACL , took him a good 6 months to get going and last season had a good season

But not wanted by Motta so can leave cheap as his contract ends next summer

£15mil for him

Will provide cover for the front 3

It’s a decent signing with little risk

Still think we need someone for the middle of the park and maybe a left sided CB

Does this put Darwin Nunez even further down in the pecking order?

Not a done deal and Barca trying to free funds and interest from Saudi https://www.skysports.com/football/...-latest-on-deals-signings-loans-and-contracts

Not sure - Chiesa can play all three roles with him mainly being from the right - so I can see him being more relief for Salah which we haven’t had

Nunez does need to step up this season when he gets the chance

With the extended CL it’s going to be a few more games extra so going to need more players

Looks like will be done today

Believe he’s quite injury prone.
Also seems odd other clubs haven’t been in for him & it’s taken so long in the transfer window 🤷‍♂️

He misses a lot but he’s averaged a goal every two games in the last two seasons. Bad press or should he score more - don’t forget, he’s not L’pool’s primary striker.

At 25 years he’s past being considered as still learning the game. He could do with scoring a few more but who do you get 20 goals out of as a second striker?

The issue is the misses he has had have been crucial at times

It’s strange because at times he can produce a magic finish

Definitely a player there , can certainly see him getting minutes to show how good he can be

Edit - looks like it’s a done deal for Chiesa

£10mil ?!? That’s potentially an absolute bargain

Wiki has him scoring 20 goals in 66 appearances for Liverpool (albeit, I think they just show league game appearances).
