Villa and Arsenal have only played that slot once this season.
Not sure the reasoning behind Arsenal, but I guess Villa makes sense, being in Europa League. And if TNT want to show a certain amount of Liverpool games, also in Europa, then they need to use some of the international breaks.

Maybe TNT needs to get the 5.30pm on Sat again? Then Sky can split between 12.30 Sat, 2 Sun games and Monday, depending on who is playing midweek.

Probably difficult though, when you can predict who will go through in cups, get knocked out, drawn against, etc

I thought Klopp had a really good point regards TV companies becoming "partners" as opposed to how they behave now. Look how the european TV companies treat the Spanish,Italian,French and German teams with Kick off times.

I hate the Saturday 1230 kick off times, most of the time the games are rubbish, atmospheres subdued and the 3 women who are involved with TNT are dull as dishwater.

I wonder if the PL said all players/clubs have to take a 10% drop in wages in order for the PL to abolish the 1230 KO slot would they accept it?
Not sure about the general quality of 12.30 games, but having a quick scan through the last few weeks or month, there look to have been some crackers.

Are fans quieter or are attendances lower? Don't know myself.

If TNT employed 3 blokes for pundits / co commentaters, would that solve that problem? Although obviously that is a separate issue to 12.30 kick off :)

Not if it was Dion Dublin, Michael Owen and Robbie Savage.

It’s garbage mate, we know the teams who are in Europe at the beginning of the season, therefore they (imo) should be given preferential treatment when it comes to scheduling, the PL should tell the TV companies those teams are to “helped” when it comes to weekends before and after European games.

The TV companies announce the fixtures up to 2 months in advance, they should at the least, talk to the Clubs and work together rather than dictating when they’ll play.

As well there should be no early kick offs after international breaks, some Clubs don’t get the players back until the Thursday or Friday.

Well i did say most not all games.

I think a lot of grounds have been quieter in these games the last few seasons. I think its harder to get up for these games

It would help massively.

Would you really miss the 1230 kick offs if they got abolished?

Is your solution to have an 8 day week? :)

He cant penalise a player if the ball isnt in play.

He can. He can’t give a free kick/penalty but he can book/send off a player. Think about it… the corner hasn’t been taken but amongst all the pushing and shoving a player takes a swing at another player. “Sorry ref you can’t touch me, the ball wasn’t in play.”

Ok Mr Pedantic:rolleyes::rolleyes:;)

Excluding Violent conduct, the ref cant penalise a player if the ball is not in play. Is that ok?

Btw, Its in Law 11 if you want to check the laws of the game(y)

No team should have preferential treatment. Why should the other 14 teams who arent in Europe be treated any differently?

Because they’ll benefit by PL Clubs doing well in Europe, plus with less games they are easier to schedule, let’s remember every Team is guaranteed to be shown so many times during the season.

How do the other 14 benefit from the 6 in europe doing well? I

Not if managers like Klopp have their way, and keep moaning about their slots.

So it's the scheduling of fixtures that was detrimental to PL clubs this year in Europe? :D
