Well, I woke up this morning, check the football chat. Can't believe there isn't in depth chat about last night's DVD for Christmas cracker 🤷‍♂️. If Luton go down, I'd take Chong and Adebayo. Chong created havoc last night.

Massive game for both Forest and Burnley today. Burnley have to win to stand any sort of chance. A Forest win against Sheffield probably seals their safety. Anything less than a win for Forest definitely keeps Luton in the race. Luton are not going quietly, fair play to them.

Our result today will have a big bearing on how many points we get back next week. ;)

Not feeling confident though. We don’t have a great record at Brammall Lane and Blades would love to drag us down with them. So I’m prepared for them to turn into prime Barca today! 🤣

Right so take back control of Football and allow every game to be televised. We can all watch our teams without that stupid blackout.

Cup matches get played over the same days Wed/Sun alternated
I can see a future were every weekend PL game is at a different time. Potentially 5 slots Saturday, 5 Sunday with first match at 11am and last at 8pm, 2 hours between each kick off. Maybe just 4 a day, if a match is shown on a Friday and Monday night.

That way, broadcasters get to televise every match. Only times they don't do.it is weekday games and last weekend of season.

Alternatively, we have the Amazon set up, games played over a couple of days, at the same time, public choose which one to watch. Less disruption that way.

Unfortunately i agree. This doesnt benefit the TV companies or its employees, it wont benefit the minimum wage paid stadium staff neither. It will inconveinience the match going fans further. I believe this would only benefit the betting companies who make extortionate profit on football matches.

Then the taking match day games into USA/Middle East wont be far behind.

I don't see that. Certainly not restricted to 2 slots, 1 on sat and 2 on sun. It is more likely midweek, as they need to take into account work and school patterns. Weekends are fair game though.

Plus, there may be a few hundred thousand fans going to matches each weekend. But there are hundreds of millions of fans globally. Broadcasters won't want to make them choose a game, but to be able to watch multiple games I they choose. They'll also see earlier kick offs being convenient for Eastern Asia Market I guess, later games for US Market

Or the PL lift the ban on 3pm kick offs being shown live, after all they and UEFA/FIFA have no interest in fans or player welfare, it’ll be down to what raises the biggest income.

If it is benefitting TV companies, it is benefitting their staff. They'll need to employ many more staff for a start.

It will benefit 99.9% of fans who don't get to games, but can watch any game or all games live on TV.

These arguments were probably exactly the same when Sky came along, and started shifting games to a Super Sunday, MNF, etc. And yet, many will still refer to the Premier League best in world, and I'm sure it is on many parameters, such as finances, viewership and volume of fans

And what ultimately raises money? Fans
Nope! Many clubs, yours included have admitted they don’t need fans to make a profit, match day receipts count for very little in the big scheme of things.

That’s the issue though, games without fans is nothing and they’re are now low down in the considerstions.

You still blinkered by match day fans then, who are about 0.001% of total fans any given weekend?

And as for match going fans, the stadiums generally look pretty full. Covid aside, don't remember many matches played in empty stadiums because match going fans are no longer catered for

Can you stop the sly digs! We are simply nobody’s on a social media platform discussing football!
We are allowed different opinions and what we say or believe will change nothing and have no impact on real life.

Gate receipts account for something like 15-20p of every pound Clubs make in profit.

Yes it helps, but Clubs could still survive without fans in the ground.

I can see 2 slots per day on a weekend.

Saturday 3pm and 5.30pm

Sunday 1.30pm, 4pm

The games could be divided between those slots. Can we also have the Monday night game? I like that slot, particularly in winter. Something to look forward to after a Monday at work 😄

When Sky took over they just ruined football for me as a match going fan.
That season I only got to four home games .
We played mostly Sunday or Monday night.
I played golf ( comps on Sunday) and was working shifts two Mondays out of three.
I gave up my season ticket the year after as I ended up giving my ticket to friends of family who couldn’t get one.

I don’t miss going now all the cheating and diving just puts me off.
If they make all games live at 3pm on tv this will happen to lots more fans imo.
But games without fans will be terrible and no atmosphere.
