Was it not VAR working as it should? On field decision was a penalty. Replays were inconclusive so the decision stood.

Had it not been given then I doubt that would have been overturned either.

They've made it more difficult for themselves with that clear and obvious nonsense, a mistake is a mistake and Anthony Taylor made one there...amongst 50 or so others yesterday.

Half-watched the Spurs Palace game last night. They didn't really cause too many problems. I have to say, Van de Ven must be one of the quickest players in the league, let alone quickest defenders. He is absolute lightning. Whenever Palace thought they were in for the counter, he just goes flying past them and takes the ball! You can see why Dier's not going to get a game in this system - comparatively speaking he'd look like he was walking.

I know nobody understands the handball rule anymore, but surely the Palace goal shouldn't have stood? Within three replays I could see it hit his chest and then his left hand - I thought the rule was if the scorer uses their hand or arm at all it's disallowed? VAR took another 20 replays and about 3 more minutes, and they couldn't see the touch off his hand apparently, because they allowed the goal. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s fantastic watching Tottenham play under Big Ange, so much energy and enthusiasm from the players.
Whilst I wouldn’t swap the tactics or the formation, the thing we need to be careful of is the quick turnover as we play with such a high line.
Maddison and Son apart, the other two standout players have been Bissouma and Udogie.
Pedro Porro looks like he can be a liability at times. Whilst technically a very good footballer, his decision making and positioning is suspect. Twice he got caught out at Palace and was to blame for the Palace goal.
Very positive foundations and it’s the closest style we’ve had since Pochettino.

If they mic up the refs and explain their decisions it will be fine

Clear and obvious is a very good system .. if the on field ref can justify why they made that call because of x y z then fine

But if they see the footage and they miss a punch in the face or something then that will impact the decision

Everything is subjective and it's the lack of ref mics to the stadium and TV that are part of the real issue

I only saw it briefly on MotD but it looked like a foul to me and on the line of the box. Therefore a penalty.

The Burnley offside however was a complete farce.

T rex arms will be lucky to finish the half if he carries on

Heads gone

Oh look ohana with the head.. after rolling around (nothing near his head) holding it

About time they are forced off for 10 mins for proper assessment

All footballers just love to cheat

You can't knock Pickford out, there's no brain there to ko🤣.

Kudus looks a cracking player. We've chased him for a while but we were never going to get him.

If only they would drop that useless lump Antonio and play him there ... We have 9 men ATM

Carrying Antonio and cresswell
