Awful performance

First game all season we haven't scored in, Everton deserve that stat for the fantastic defensive display they put in

We really miss Emerson

What's worse is paquata and Alvarez suspended for the next game

Not a good return since the International break

Can't wait to see how many times VAR ignores incidents like that.

In the event United ever get as high up the pitch as the final third in this game, and get a corner or free kick and throw the ball into the City area, there WILL be some holding going on.

Tierney has given one, with Michael Oliver’s intervention. I’m quite sure they’ll be consistent.

Not.

Not.
In exactly the same incident, the Man City defender used his arms to wrestle Rashford and stop him getting back.

That is fine though apparently

If that’s the benchmark for penalties now, we’re going to see a lot of them.

We’re not, though, and that’s the problem. I will be brutally honest and say if that was a United attack, I genuinely would not be screaming for a penalty. Quite simply because I wouldn’t expect one.

I would now. I think Oliver has made a huge call there and set a very clear precedent. The problem is it will be a precedent which he, himself, will likely ignore.
