I was at the Barcelona v Spurs friendly last night. Camp Nou being renovated so they are playing at the Olympic stadium. Lovely setting, the Olympic Park and surrounds were very nice.

Watching football in the heat, different experience 😄.

Sanchez was superb, Skipp showed good instincts and determination for his two goals. Ange clearly isn't on the forum. I've said over and over that Richarlison is useless as a sole front man and he proved that once again last night. Awful game for him.

Anyone playing Spurs this year, press, press, press. Obsessed with playing out from the keeper, so vulnerable 😱.

Fun experience, recommended for anyone in future if you are on holiday and a friendly is nearby.

I hope it was a better viewing experience than the London Stadium.

Horrific stadium not fit for purpose to be a football stadium imo.

Yernited have done well to get £30m for Maguire. He's garbage.

It was always staggering the level of fee paid for him - he could head a ball out but was never suited for a top level club - he will do well at a West Ham

That's not true. He was completely unsuitable for Man Utd because he's not a ball-playing defender, and when he tried to be he cocked it up and looked like a donkey. But under Moyes he'll not be asked to fanny about with it. Get back to doing what he does best - headers, clearances, blocks and tackles. I think he'll be superb for them.
It's my opinion.

He'll have to defend a lot more under Moyes than he will under Ten Haag and ive no doubt he'll be exposed further.

Depends how you play him, playing from the back he is hopeless but Moyes won't be asking him to do that.
Dont think your lot will allow Moyesey to go the long balls style of football??

He will have to be able to control and pass the ball at times throughout games.

If he proves me wrong i will gladly return and eat humble pie. Doubt it though.

My prediction is JWP sets up a Harry Maguire headed winner in the first game they play together :)

My mate, a Sheffield Wed season ticket holder, is fuming. JWP played against them in their opening day defeat

I think without the big club pressure he'll get back to basics and deal with it well. He was good at Leicester before he went to United remember, or they wouldn't have spent such a daft fee on him.

I wouldn't worry about it, I've always learnt to treat a good amount of Liverpool fans opinion with an extreme pinch of salt? Especially when it is a negative opinion about a player associated with Man Utd, or a positive opinion about a Liverpool player :)

If Maguire is realistic with his demands then this will be a great signing for us, and Moyes will get his new captain. Still need to bring a few more in though, badly need a striker and to complete the Alvarez deal.
Think an improved bid for Mctominay is worth making too. Great player especially for Scotland where he has a more attacking role.
Why make him Captain ?
He needs a few months out of the limelight to just play football and get some confidence back.

He was decent at Leicester - again a bit of big tree who headed balls away

It all went a bit ott during the WC when he did what he does best - he is still the World Record fee for a defender 😂

He is up with some of the biggest flops in the last decade along with the likes of Pogba , Sancho , Lukaku ( to Chelsea )

If he plays in a team that defends deep and lumps balls away he will do ok

He has a first good season in Manchester as well.

The pundits called it, in high line he doesn't suit. He will be excellent for us .

Plus I trust Moyes, his record of signing defenders around 30 (or improving what he has) and getting years out of them

David Weir
Tony hibbert
Distan
Ogbonna
He even got cresswell playing decent again

Maigure will be a very shrewd signing for us

Not all defenders can be the next coming of Maradona, aka TAA.

When you pay £80mil for a CB you should expect a bit more than just someone to head the ball out and give it a good hoof

What West Ham will pay for him is prob nearly his value maybe even a bit too much then

Tony Hibbert was a product of the excellent Everton Academy.

I dont rate Maguire and i've been consistent with it regardless of the teams he plays for. If Moyes gets a tune out of him i will credit him for that.
