When he left Newcastle they would have accepted a bid of £2.50. They would also have had 40,000 offers of a lift from Toon fans. Honestly, he had next to no value at that point in his career. Now..........different story.

This shows why you can't fully write a player off. Players mature or peak at different ages and when you combine different managers, tactics and team dynamics players can improve or drop off dramatically depending on a combination of all of the above.

I still think Rashford for example will go on to have a period of world class football in a different team, culture and set up. He just needs a fresh start somewhere.

Rashford also needs a better attitude.

Perhaps Phil Jones should have left Man Utd early. He could have been the next Paulo Maldini.

Cracking save no doubt. And I don’t mean this to sound dismissive/arrogant but it’s kind of what I’ve come to expect from Sels! 🤷‍♂️🤣 The guy has been on flames for a while now!

Whether it’s “technically” better than the Martinez one I don’t really know. Dare say a keeper coach/analyst could make a proper case for either!

Not sure why VAR can’t look at the corner as it should have been a goal kick

Spurs doing their normal stupid defending
It could, if they changed the rules of VAR on when it can be used.

Though, the thought of a game where VAR has to check every corner decision as well as everything else it checks would terrify me.

Just need to check it if a goal is scored
That would be absurd.

You'd have a situation that, all of us at home could see a goal kick should have been given. Corner taken anyway, and we all sit there knowing a goal will be ruled out if scored. Imagine a player got their head caved in trying to defend it.

And, if attacking team suspect they were lucky to get a corner, play it short. Knock it around a while, until a time at which you think VAR won't go back and check
