This shows why you can't fully write a player off. Players mature or peak at different ages and when you combine different managers, tactics and team dynamics players can improve or drop off dramatically depending on a combination of all of the above.
I still think Rashford for example will go on to have a period of world class football in a different team, culture and set up. He just needs a fresh start somewhere.

Agreed. Part of that is being given silly contracts he didn't deserve and allowed to get away with acting the big I am over the years.

Phil Jones troubles were injury related, rather than lack of talent or effort. The decision by Ole to give him a new deal back in 2019 has to be one of the most bizarre in the history of football though.

The guy has been on flames for a while now!Whether it’s “technically” better than the Martinez one I don’t really know. Dare say a keeper coach/analyst could make a proper case for either!

Not sure why VAR can’t look at the corner as it should have been a goal kick

It could, if they changed the rules of VAR on when it can be used.
Though, the thought of a game where VAR has to check every corner decision as well as everything else it checks would terrify me.

That would be absurd.
You'd have a situation that, all of us at home could see a goal kick should have been given. Corner taken anyway, and we all sit there knowing a goal will be ruled out if scored. Imagine a player got their head caved in trying to defend it.
And, if attacking team suspect they were lucky to get a corner, play it short. Knock it around a while, until a time at which you think VAR won't go back and check

Once play has restarted they can’t stop the game.
