I saw his press conference today too.
He looked and sounded well rested and reinvigorated.

I'm sure he's learned a lot on reflection of the past two years.
Will be looking out for their game v Aston Villa tomorrow.

Also it'll be good to see a happier PJ87. šŸ˜‚ šŸ‘

I'm always happy. Just misinterpretation šŸ˜‚

Itā€™s an important job for Potter, he will want to prove his critics wrong after being sacked by Chelsea.

Donā€™t think PJ is miserable when it comes to West Ham, if anything heā€™s a bit too optimistic, Iā€™m rather more cynical and agree with @Steve Wilkes. I think our recruitment last summer was poor and we still have the oldest and slowest team in the league.

Still as I am with every new manager we hire, Iā€™m excited and looking forward to the next match!

I didn't say he was miserable but certainly not happy with the previous manager.

Regarding Potter, he entered a poisened chalice with Chelsea.
He wasn't given much of a chance with the way the club was run at the time.

I think he will do well at West Ham. šŸ‘

Ah actually I was indifferent to j-lo , I didn't actually mind Moyes going or staying I was very much whatever decision I can live with

J-lo was looking forward to some new ideas and at first thought right this is new. Actually using the subs lol but then it just got very strange tactics

I still would have not cared too much if he had stayed the season but really wanted potter since before we won Europe.

The only manager I get proper passionate about is the deluded Ozzie

So in one week both of Villa's next opponents have new managers... I can only see these fixtures going one way now :ROFLMAO:

Just seen that the Geordie lad who was splashed all over the media this week celebrating the win has been caught out. His parents told the school he was ill and then he gets shown on tv at the match šŸ¤£

That's been doing the rounds up here since the school picked up on it. Cue hundreds of replies being anti the school. Just be upfront and honest at the beginning. Anyway, I doubt the kid or the parents give a stuff so no harm done.

Toffees, is moyes really the man to take you forward ?
Forward, no. Perfect would be a six month deal, stabilise the team, keep us safe, new manager comes in the summer with a full summer to work on things.

Question is whether he would take that or whether he wants 18 or 30 months, contracts usually ending in June.

I don't see him as a long term answer, I'm not overly keen on him at all after the way he left us. Short term, maybe we have to suck it up.

What was the issue with the way he left you (I can't remember any of the controversy, if there was any)?

I had to do a quick search on the internet, but it said in his last game the players gave him a guard of honour, and Everton fans displayed banners like "Thanks for the Memories" and "Goodbye and Good Luck". I remember talking to my Everton pal shortly after in the pub, and he said he was nearly in tears when Moyes left, he was like a second dad. He didn't hold any resentment towards him

I thought he left in good spirit tbf.

Just built a solid team that he left behind and gave them 10+ years of stability - moved on to the biggest job in football at the time

Which has now prompted me to text that Everton mate, to see if there are any tears of joy that Moyes might come back

Darren Ferguson taking pelters today on Twitter for not playing Tyler Young last night.

Absolutely ridiculous that people are criticising him for it. At the time he made his last sub, his team were 1-0 down and had a chance of a late equaliser. Why on earth should he use that substitution on an 18 year old right back who isnā€™t anywhere near the first team anyway, just to fulfil a media narrative of a father and son playing a game against each other?

I dislike Ashley Young anyway, so Iā€™m glad he missed out on the chance. He can go and sign for League One team if he really wants to play a match against his son.

Because its just nice to have these things happen sometimes?

Young has been a great pro his entire career, not seen anything bad said against him - model pro whos still able to cut it in the best league in the world at 39 years old. No idea why you wouldn't like him.

He was a massive diver in his heyday.

In fairness, the manager has a job to do first and foremost, and that's trying to get a result. Not create heart-warming stories.

Had he put Young's son on, he'd probably have been criticised more for not taking the game seriously, and trying his best to get an equaliser. The criticism is simply from people that like to moan regardless.

I donā€™t deny it. But not at the expense of potentially getting something out of the game.

Ferguson named Tyler Young on his bench so clearly had the intention to give him game time if the situation allowed. Maybe if either team had been out of sight with ten minutes to go, he would have done it.

Getting through that tie could have potentially been financially massive for a club like Peterborough and at the time of making his last substitution, they still had a chance. Better to give the club that chance rather than doing something that everyone would have gone ā€œAhhhh, now niceā€ at and then forgotten about the next day.
