I'd have sacked him 2 days ago and got Potter but I suspect that discussion was had and he chose West Ham instead.

I'm not sure now, it's a precarious time. Had it been summer I'd have been tempted to try someone like Michael Carrick, doing a very good job at Middlesbrough. He'd have a full pre season, get some players in. As it is I'm not sure who is being talked about, who is around.

Let's hope the inevitable guff about Rooney is just that. Same with Jose. I can't see why he'd want to come but equally, I don't want him anywhere near us.

The new owners are not new to football, nor to changing managers. Hopefully they have someone lined up and get them in quickly.
No way they’re going for Rooney.

Good
No, no, no 😱

I'm hoping that's just silly paper talk. After all, Jose buys teams, wants to be at the top end of things. We can't offer that right now. I don't want him anywhere Everton.
Not long ago, Mourinho said in a press conference that the best thing for him would be to manage a side not in any UEFA competitions, and so if any team in England near the bottom of the table were interested when he left Fenerbache, it could be for him.

Everton sounds the perfect choice :)

Obviously he was joking, but could it actually become reality?

I would have been happy with Carrick at West Ham but I think I read he was not interested yet, wanted to complete what he has started at Boro.
I'm warming to the appointment of Potter. Rather quickly I might add… his press conference (I refuse to call them pressers) was impressive. If he walks the walk half as well as he talks it then I’ll be happy.
A small side note, I’m happy they got an English man in. I can start listening to the post match interviews again, it was impossible to understand the Lopster.

Guess we could find out is Maureen is successful without spending billions

Does seem strange to do it now though

Everton won’t go down with Dyche

Then in the summer you let him go and reset

Risky to make the choice now

Unless Moyes comes in

I read potter has a masters in team leadership. Considering the lack of leadership we have shown at times I welcome it

Have you got a lot of money to spend, because I'm afraid to say, you ain't going to rise the Premier League with the squad you have

We only need a central midfielder. That's it to transform the team.

Yes a striker, new left back next season etc would all be nice to haves but that box to box midfielder would transform the team

We have been far to slow in midfield. Which leads to the defence being over exposed and the attack not getting the ball quickly enough, it's why we have spend 75 million on CBs and 15 mill on rb and not changed the amount of goals we let in. However our strikers remained the same.... And we scored less. Because we don't turn the ball over enough

I've heard potter is getting money for a midfielder

That will be enough to change the tempo

I saw his press conference today too.
He looked and sounded well rested and reinvigorated.

I'm sure he's learned a lot on reflection of the past two years.
Will be looking out for their game v Aston Villa tomorrow.

Also it'll be good to see a happier PJ87. 😂 👍
