That 2 game ban for Cunha is absolutely pathetic.

But, when officials and those in charge of such decisions can't give out a red card when a player clearly throws an elbow (not sure what game it was recently?), then they will hardly go hard on a player who throws an elbow into a non player and then rips his glasses off. At least not Cunha.

Had Bruno Fernandes, Darwin Nunez, Kyle Walker or Romero done that, the FA probably would have given them a 6 month ban to set an example of them.
No it is not, what is pathetic is the number of bans given for just about anything, we want to see the best players, we want to see contact and commitment, what is it with people wanting bans for this and bans for that, if you want to see handbags at dawn get the darby and joan club and leave the game alone or watch something else, that's what's pathetic

yep, will be good to see Summerville get a decent run. Assuming he actually gets one of course.
Still can't get my head around the fact that there was no booking for the foul. From behind and deliberately stopping a break. Not that the ref was to blame for the overall trajectory of the game (obvs) but it's still irksome.

summerville should be starting every single game. his numbers in the championship were much like bowens and he always looks sharp.. bit of actual pace and tries to get things moving. his lack of use has been one of jlos biggest mistakes

hearing its 2 months min for bowen aswell. sad times

its the consistency thats wrong. as i stated. kudus got sent off for pushing a spurs player in the face in a derby. he was then given a 6 game ban because he pushed 2 players in the face in total. little push. defo red but not in the same ball park of going after a back room member of staff and assaulting them.

he should be getting a 7-10 game ban

He has an MBE and OBE for his charity work Tash.

Southgate’s is for Services to Association Football, you can’t compare him to Sinfield, it’s like comparing Apples with Oranges.

Bobby Robson was knighted for reaching the semi-finals, so it was probably on the cards Southgate would be recognised.

The whole system needs an overhaul or binning, but you still can’t blame those awarded the Honours.
To be honest I am blaming those who award the honours. Southgate, and I don’t deny what he has done re put England on the map. But he could have had Hundreds of pages on this forum on his own as he split football fans and golf fans. In the same sense. Kevin Sinfield has been a monster. He could have stepped back and settled on his OBE. He hasn’t he continues to deliver and inspire. Who has Southgate inspired.
Look at Sadiq Khan. He is now a knight for doing his job. Nothing else just doing his job. And with crime rising in London. One could suggest. Not very well. However the Tories are saying the three times elected Mayor of London village is a failure. I would suggest that the Tories have failed in not being able to replace him.
I agree The system needs an overhaul but politicians giving awards to politicians for me is just wrong.

Southgate has inspired kids/fans, maybe not you or me, but I genuinely can’t remember a manager since Venables that gave us hope and for a small period of time had us thinking we could we win a trophy. He has also done quite a bit for Charities, helping to raise millions, charities including being a Patron for H4H.

You could compare Sinfield to just about any other medal recipient, but the sad fact as I mentioned earlier, someone, somewhere will have submitted the paperwork justifying why they believe he deserves to be recognised and I don’t think doing the same thing again, ie raising money for a specific charity, will add any more weight to what he’s been recognised for. You, me and millions of others would knight him, but we’re not on the Awards Panel.

As for your other points, they are political and unfortunately it’s not up for debate.

Totally agree the whole system needs an over haul, but it’s gone on for decades regardless of who’s in charge.

Not being political to state the fact that London has a higher overall crime rate than the rest of the U.K. and a much higher knife crime rate than the rest of the U.K.

  • Overall crime
London's overall crime rate is higher than the rest of the UK. In 2023/24, London's crime rate was 105.1 per 1,000 people, compared to 89.7 per 1,000 people in England and Wales. The number of crimes recorded in London in 2023/24 was 938,020, up from 887,870 in the previous year.

  • Knife crime
London has a significant knife crime problem. In 2022/23, there were 12,786 knife and sharp object crimes in London. In 2023/24, the number of knife crime offences returned to near pre-pandemic levels, with 15,016 offences.
As you say. Agenda 👍
