So Plymouth have sacked Rooney.
Surely that’s his managerial career over.
Seemed like a panicked choice to go there in the first place. Plymouth were always likely to struggle, smallest budget in the league I believe, or close to it. He would have been better hanging fire and biding his time for a better option. Now he has had two flops in quick succession and owners remember that.

Would he drop another league? He might have to if he wants to keep managing.

By that stage Bobby Robson had been a manager for over 30 years

Won multiple domestic leagues around Europe , won multiple European trophies and won domestic trophies

He was rewarded for a stellar career

Southgate has won nothing as a manager

He had been given a knighthood to try and be modern - it’s a complete joke and I normally support the honour system

It was bad enough when they were rumoured to be giving one to Beckham who also doesn’t deserve one

It’s laughable and a mockery of the whole thing

He should have done the decent thing and turned it down
So we’ve gone from work outside of football counting to being rewarded for his stellar career😂😂😂

Maybe just accept you dislike Southgate.🤷‍♂️

I always thought it was us Blues that were bitter and twisted.😂😂

Happy New Year Mate, all the best to you and the family for 2025.👍🏻

If Lampard can keep getting jobs then Rooney will keep getting offers

A club will also give these players a job to raise the profile and bring in revenue as well

How does Rooney keep stealing a living as a football manager 😂

Two game ban for Cunha...bit excessive if you ask me 🤣
I know you're not serious but....Nuno and MGW got 5 games and 3 games respectively for swearing in the direction of Anthony Taylor...Pedro not getting anything for nearly taking someone's head off and 2 games for Cunha assaulting an Ipswich staff member....just seems all a bit out of proportion.

No matter, he won't be available for when we play Wolves at the weekend, and that, right now, is all that matters

Do their team of the season so far

Some interesting choices for both

Neville

Sels

Taa
Saliba
VVD
Gvardiol

Gravenburch
Caicedo

Salah
Palmer
Cunha

Wood

Carragher the same apart from

Raya

Aina
Milenkovic
Robinson

Would agree more with Carraghers

But would have Isak instead of Wood
Same. I love Chris Wood and he's scored some really good (and important!) goals for us, but Isak is an absolute joy to watch (except when he inevitably scores every time Forest play them haha)

If I don't see a contract extension announcement for Aina in the next 48 hours I'm going to lose my head.

I won't defend it, not that type of fan, we've been very lucky.

Is there a difference in those vans because they were given by the PL and this is by the FA? No idea why there'd be a difference.

Not a clue mate. All seems very inconsistent (not just these offences, but in general).

Might have a chance to get something against you now. We always struggle to get a result against you, it seems, so hopefully we can turn our fortunes around and keep our unbeaten streak going.

I'm more confident of getting something than I would've been a few weeks ago mate.

He was one of the main problems, just look at his signings in terms of transfer fees, wages and actual output. He's crippled the club short and medium term.
He was manager. Not sporting director. If any club gives a manager a blank cheque book and allows him to buy who he wants, the problem is the Club.

I'm not even sure ETH wanted all the signings. When the Club decided to employ him, they probably watched Ajax play a lot. I would not be at all surprised if Woodward, or whoever it was in charge, was very very keen in signing some of the Ajax players themselves. I can't imagine ETH said "I demand you buy Antony for nearly £100 million"

I like Amorim, so will support him as much as ETH. But, the problem is the atrocious recruitment over many many years, and being completely incapable of buying a player with loves a battle. Was hoping INEOS would do better, and I still like Yoro, Ugarte and De Ligt. But the signing of Zirkzee has terrified me.

That 2 game ban for Cunha is absolutely pathetic.

But, when officials and those in charge of such decisions can't give out a red card when a player clearly throws an elbow (not sure what game it was recently?), then they will hardly go hard on a player who throws an elbow into a non player and then rips his glasses off. At least not Cunha.

Had Bruno Fernandes, Darwin Nunez, Kyle Walker or Romero done that, the FA probably would have given them a 6 month ban to set an example of them.

Gvardiol? He's just about giving a goal away a game. Seems to have lost his head a bit and looks incredibly nervous when asked to defend. Great going forward though. Him and TAA at full-backs would give me a heart attack :)

yep, will be good to see Summerville get a decent run. Assuming he actually gets one of course.
Still can't get my head around the fact that there was no booking for the foul. From behind and deliberately stopping a break. Not that the ref was to blame for the overall trajectory of the game (obvs) but it's still irksome.
