I think the moral of all this is that in this day and age of camera phones and everyone potentially having access to an audience of millions, just don't bother saying or doing anything that might upset or offend anyone at all. Doesn't matter who you are or what you do for a living, it can easily come back and bite you on the arse.
Don't have crap mates who'll sell you out for a few quid as well.

Personally I am fed up with the complaining of too many games. Increase squad sizes to 30 and spread the load and get on with it. It's a team / squad game not an 11 player game anymore and the reason for this is the amount of money players and managers earn. I mean earning a million or 2 is way beyond anything most people outside of Movies and music can ever think about. 20 hours of training a week and a couple of games, woe is me

There needs to be a change of culture with clubs and players. There is a big squad, you won't play every game because there is so many and yet you can still earn millions. Wages for the top players are uawards of £300,000 a week, you know only 10% of our population earn over £60,000 a year yet there is not a players in the top divisions earning that a year.

It feels like these players and managers want their cake and eat it and each year the wages get higher the cost to go to games gets higher, buying kits gets higher and all associated costs get higher but they want to do less.

I mean yesterday in my job we were told the 6 million pound cost increase to do business from April will mean less staff, some outsourcing and also to step up to the plate and do more with smaller pay rises and this will be the reality for a lot of people and businesses but not multi millionaire footballers and managers, no they want to do less but keep all the pie and at contract time get paid even more. Simon Jordan has the right of it but even some fans seem to keep on that narrative. I mnean we were told if we don't like find something else and I feel the same applies to footballers, hey if you don't like the amount of games and massive wages do something different that you can cope with while millions go about working themesleves to the bone.

As to England, well if they don't turn up they don't get in, then they won't be so tired, we may not win anything but hey at least they won't be over tired sat at home spunking over their millions, partying hard and so on.

Very hard to compare jobs

One bad tackle and their career is over

One bad injury and they are done

The intensity, pressure and scrutiny is massive now

As with most professional sports they are fine tuned and they can’t be flogged or they will break there is no doubt

What someone is paid doesn’t mean they can milked dry until there is nothing left to give

Wages get higher because the governing bodies make a fortune out of the sport - so why shouldn’t the players get a piece - the game would be nothing without them

There is every chance that soon enough players will be close to playing 12 months of the year

The game won’t be great if the players are not on the pitch because they are overplayed

Got to be a fine balance

Who exactly is puppet master of Gary Neville and Spitty Carra I wonder?

The pair of them cannot WAIT to weigh in and fart out their opinions on everything and everyone else within football. But the Coote story drops and we hear nothing from either of them for several days. And when we do, both give very similar and very measured responses.

Who pulls their strings?! ;)

I suspect the legal people at Sky are telling them to be very careful about what they say whilst things are in this early stage. It's one thing criticising a player, manager, ref for an onfield decision but to wade into something like this, they have to choose their words carefully.

I get all that.

Problem is, as soon as a manager picks "squad players" they are accused of not taking that match seriously. Every manager is under pressure to win every game, and most managers will have at least 7 or 8 players who are their absolute best players. Leaving them out of the side when they are not actually injured can be a huge gamble. And, fans will slam the manager as well, especially if games are lost. From a Man Utd fans perspective, there are huge complaints by many fans when one player plays over another when they don't agree with it. Rashford starts, many fans moan. Anthony starts, many fans moan. Casemiro starts, many fans moan. Lindelof starts, many fans moan. Manager makes a sub, many fans moan if they think an inferior player is coming on.

Sure, a club manager can be brave, and heavily rotate the players from match to match, to ensure nobody plays too many minutes. And, maybe it reduces injuries (although we'd never know what would have happened if he didn't). So, unless the side is actually successful, the manager will be slammed for "not knowing his best team". And, it also feels like it is diluting the quality of the side the manager picks in any given match. Do fans want to see dilution of the quality of players on the field?

Yes, to avoid injuries, that is what needs to happen. Bigger squads, use the inferior players more, use more subs as you can now use 5. All of that might reduce injuries, but I have my doubts it improves the quality of the game. There must be a limit as to what is too much football. 365 matches a year would probably be too much. 200 games probably too much. Question is, what is the limit, we will probably all have different opinions? But, there is a limit. Playing what seems like an increased amount of international games, is, in my opinion ridiculous. FIFA having a World Club Cup with loads of teams seems ridiculous. UEFA continually changing the format of its competitions to increase the number of games is ridiculous. Sure, the best players will benefit from more money, but they won't become any less injury prone or more immune to fatigue related injuries. A can see players ditching international games first, as they aren't paid for them.

We are all nobodies in here, and we've been warned about what we say about the situation currently being investigated.

Do you think that people with a large public presence have had even bigger warnings about what they say and don't say? Sure, it is fun for all of us to join the lynch mob and give our opinions on what certain people have alleged to have done, and then even use that as loose evidence as to how that relates to other choices that person has made in their lives. But, if I was in the media and my voice could be heard by thousands, I'd definitely be a lot more careful about offering strong opinions on a topic that is being investigated.

Once the case is closed, perhaps they'll be in a better position to talk about it?

Yeah bigger squads isn't the answer, the pool of top quality players is only so big and then the quality would drop off.

City might look to rest players against mid table sides, mid table sides will go full strength to try and capitalise on a weakened opponent.

Only way to address it long term is to reduce the amount of club games. European sides entering domestic cups in later rounds is one good work around already in place. Maybe needs expanding.

Maybe its even time to omit European sides from the League Cup entirely. I know that's a big suggestion but what else is there!

Not sure what more they can say

He has been caught with two videos that are more to do with his personal life

He will prob never ref again

What else will there be to say until any investigation comes out
Which is a travesty. He hasnt hurt nobody with what he said, unprofessional yes but not something derseving to lose a career over.

A warning of his future conduct and behaviour should be sufficient.

I wont comment on any other gossip circulating on social media.

What he said prob stopped him from being a ref in this country or the Prem - I don’t think it would have been practical for him to continue and prob not fair on him with the extra scrutiny

The second video has prob done more damage for him

I’ve read on the BBC website the second video/images were taken during the Euros at which he was a 4th official 😬
