Strangely enough my Liverpool supporting mate basically said all of this to me last night too.

For sure - he cant ref a Liverpool game again, but I literally wouldn't care if he was reffing Villa v Ipswich, why should we, hes a bloke with an opinion is all.

Every single ref in the world will have opinions on every manager they have worked with, will prefer some and not like others.

Refs are not robots, we need to just get over it.

Re Coote, I totally get he is entitled to an opinion. But make it professional. His rant was quite frankly embarrassing and ignorant. I think it was someone on here who suggested he was “ on something”. Recent videos endorse that. There’s not a cat in hells chance he will referee again. The PGMOL could support and rehabilitate him. But fans won’t forget. City and Utd fans would roll out the red carpet for him. Liverpool fans would burn him at the stake.

Would city and United fans roll out any carpet if he then started to give decisions more favourable towards Liverpool

I disagree. He should be allowed to ref at PL level. His opinion of Klopp isnt proof he's biased against LiverpoolFC. To suggest such is crazy. He should be able to referee any team he doesnt have any alleigance to. I'm sure at the professional level of the club they would be fine with him refereeing there games.

No team should dictate who can or cant referee them. Those days have gone since Sir Alex Ferguson moved on.

Reprimand him, re educate him and move on.

If he's one of the best we've got, why would he need re-educating? He's had his chance and blown it. He's shown he's not fit for the job and his integrity will always been questioned. Allowing him to continue will send out the wrong message.

I suspect the PL will want to sweep it under the carpet ASAP but there should be a full investigation into the games he's reffed that involve Liverpool and also their title rivals. The stats don't look good and neither do some very dubious decisions. If I was a Liverpool fan I'd be fuming.

I don’t think Coote is corrupt as a ref , I just think he is completely useless , worse than incompetent

The two main “talking points” - where both when he was VAR

The VVD and Pickford where both him and Oliver concentrated on the offside and they admitted the mistake there

And the Odegaard handball which was as blatent as you can get but he had a VAR asst with him

Both were errors he got wrong because he is useless as opposed to corrupt

I can only guess you haven’t seen the second video and didn’t watch the first video very well
