I think this is the right manager at the right time for Man Utd. Every one of their appointments post Ferguson was either the wrong manager or the right manager at the wrong time (Mourinho).

Obvious question marks over his experience but he can gain that in the next 18 months or so as I don't think anyone expects them to be challenging for the title in that time frame. Man Utd fans have been amazingly supportive of rubbish like Ole and ETH, so if they can see him making progress in terms of a style of play they'll give him time to get the results. Klopp, Pep and Arteta weren't overnight success stories, their first seasons were underwhelming but they all inprinted their style from the off and then added the results.

It's a tough ask to turn them around and challenge three of the best sides in Europe which is what City, Arsenal and Liverpool are - but when you've got the vast financial firepower Utd have it makes it easier.

I’ve seen teams take a corner and two passes later their keepers got the ball .
That really is bad.

A "wide player" taking on the full back in order to get a cross in, rather than pass back inside, is now rarer than hens' teeth.

When I was playing, that was your blooming job!

Passes completed stats are virtually meaningless as there are so many pointless ones!
