Palace should have had a pen.
That challenge was the same as MGW last week .
Yes he got the ball but he took the man out, MGW red today not even a foul ???
Consistency there is none.

Also Pretty poor from Salah trying to “win a penalty”.
Would make the refs job a lot easier if players weren’t constantly trying to cheat.

Never seen the game I was out.
Players dive because refs don’t give it if they don’t hit the floor.
All teams have divers inc Liverpool.
I’d worry about your own team you need a new keeper that can pass a ball 10yds.

Wolves were awful trying to play it from the back.
It’s like some managers see how Pep does it so think they have to do it like that.
Honestly no idea what we were thinking, that comes from the coach. We're never going to be good enough to play through Liverpool's press. Sometimes, and I know it's not the in thing, you just gotta lump it.

You could apply this to most teams in the league. I'm watching Chelsea v Brighton at the moment and it's this with bells and whistles on. So many goals given away needlessly.

Both those teams have footballers who are comfortable doing it so I can kind of see it, but in the right situations. Unfortunately our centre halves have the coordination of a 3 legged dog.

Gary Lineker🤬 says Gordon has a right to go down with the slightest touch from the keeper and it’s not diving.
Forest denied 2 pens and he says there wasn’t enough contact to give a pen for either!

No wonder fans get annoyed!

The hypocrisy is infuriating isn’t it?

As is the lack of consistency - even in the same damm game!!!!

Forest have a penalty given against them when Murillo, while looking upwards at the flight of the ball, accidentally scrapes the back of the leg of a Fulham player. Ref doesn’t give it but VAR tell him to go and look again. And of course when you slow it right down and look at stills, it looks worse than it actually was.

Yet in the SAME game, the SAME ref waves this away as well and the SAME VAR team don’t see enough in it to ask him to take a second look.

I know we won’t get consistency on these soft challenges between different referee teams and different games. But is it REALLY too much to ask for consistency by the same team in the same game?!

For the record, I don’t think either were worthy of awarding a penalty. But if you give the first, how can you possibly not give the second????

I just don’t get Lineker saying an attacker “does not have to try to jump over the keeper” so in other words he can run in to the keeper and claim a foul.

Obviously sometimes it is a foul, but when even Shearer thinks it’s no penalty…

The one against Elanga should definitely have been given (if we’re comparing to the one Fulham got in the same game!)

But I’m no longer surprised at the lack of consistency.

He didn't get a red, he got a second yellow, leading to a red and totally different to getting a straight red card. How about some consistency in your commenting. See how difficult it is :)

Just caught up with yesterdays football with some seriously poor decisions from officials again.

How did Calafiori stay on the pitch? His foul was a perfect example of a Cynical/tactical foul thats always given.

Vardy was fouled in the build up to the 1st Arsenal goal though he made a meal of it which may have swayed the referee.
Palace shouldve had a penalty at 1-0 too.
Gordon conned the referee in the Newcastle/City game.

Only saw it briefly on MOTD, the penalty against Forest. But I did think it was strange for VAR to intervene, especially this season when they are trying to let the onfield decision stand unless there has been an absolute howler. Just looked a coming together, and no worse than a 50/50 call.

Certainly looked less of a foul than at least one of the challenged on Forest players in the box, where nothing was given and VAR stayed silent

Ipswich v Villa is very entertaining. Ipswich may not survive this season but on this showing they will be a good watch. Some slick passing, fast feet and pace up front.

clear penalty for Palace

Clear dive from Gordon

Should have been a red for Calafori

And what was Tonali doing embarrassing himself
Didn’t see all of MOTD last night as I was flicking between that and Golf.
Just watched it:
Definitely a pen for Palace, no idea what VAR was looking at! Can only guess they might of thought contact started outside the box and therefore can’t intervene.🤷‍♂️

No discussion on Tonali, I can see him replacing Fernandez as the player you’d most like to punch.😬

Calafori, lucky, very lucky.

Well exactly. Surely VAR should only intervene when there is a “clear and obvious” error by the onfield ref? You can’t call that “clear and obvious” no matter what tinted glasses you’re wearing.
