I mean, I'll have to mention it. But, ETH did come to the PL to manage an absolute car crash of a club. Finished 3rd in the league, won the League Cup, got to the FA Cup final, and even looked good in Europe until Martinez got injured, no subs left and then the fragility of the players was all to plain to see.Has there been a single manager that's come straight from Eredivisie to Premier League and done well? I can't recall one.
So, in that season, I'd say he did well. Of course, people will only remember the second season, which has been much poorer for several reasons.
Anyway, how many managers finish their time in the PL and remembered with universal positivity? Even managers who have a very good season or 2 will eventually reach a period where the side struggles. At that point, few managers survive in the job, get sacked and their failure is remembered.
